japope740
I have a 2013 Legacy 2.5i premium w/nav. I have been looking for dash kits and head units to upgrade from stock. I haven't had any luck, all i can find is dash kits for non-nav models. I did find some possible offerings from Seicane. However I am very skeptical from all the videos and reviews that I have seen. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
Scubaboo
Aren't the openings all the same so that all the Legacy-specific stuff will fit both nav and non-nav cars?
japope740
Thats what I am trying to figure out. I haven't gotten behind the dash to see if it a space issue behind the stock unit or if it the way the actual dash is laid out.
Scubaboo
Our cars have enough depth behind the dash for most any aftermarket head unit. AFAIK there is only one version of the dash bezel so nav and non-nav work with it.
FLlegacy
I believe the only difference is the wiring harness and the cubby or lack thereof.
Falcor
Metra sells a plug and play kit. http://www.metraonline.com/images/products/full/95-8910S_web.jpg http://www.metraonline.com/part/95-8910S I want to see if the mounting will work with a non NAV bezel since I hate the look of the open cubby hole. I much prefer the factory door. That way I can just buy the factory bezel since my car also has factory NAV.
Scubaboo
I see it now. Nav has a different dash bezel with a yuuuge triple-din-and-then-some hole. The above Metra kit will fill it nicely. The Nav screen mounting ears are in the exact same position as a non-nav head unit mounting ears. The non-nav head unit mounts in the same place as the shallower nav screen would, and nav cars have the same depth behind the screen as non-nav cars. I think YeuEnMaiMai has the Seicane and he had favorable impressions. He has an install thread about it somwhere here.
