4thsubaru
First I hope everyone is safe and well amid these times! I was bleeding my clutch fluid per the OEM maintenance manual and when I opened the bleeder valve my clutch remained stuck on the floor. I pulled it up and have been driving it since and it never happened again. I understand that this should not happen during the air bleeding process. Should I go ahead and change the slave cylinder? Or wait until it stick under regular driving? Thanks!
cww516
I had that happen when I bled the clutch after deleting the damper, and that was a few years ago, haven't had any long-term issues. As long as you bleed it properly, having the pedal go to the floor like that shouldn't cause any damage. There's a spring in the pedal that will hold it either all the way up or all the way down if there's no pressure in the line to push it back up. When you crack the bleeder, you release that pressure, so there's nothing to push the pedal back out.
dgoodhue
If you bleed the slave cylinder, this is normal. It happened when I did my clutch damper delete and I remember reading others had it go to the floor.
