Avo Panel Filter How do you clean it?

Recommended Posts

I cleaned my AVO with a sophisticated setup of a garden hose and my thumb strategically placed partially over the end of the hose to fasciliate aggressive water flow. Oh, and then I dried it with a solar powered setup (sat it in the sun).

According to the AVO guys (Paul? Ross?), don't use high pressure water flow, as it may damage the element. Instead, soak in warm water with a little bit of dish soap. Rinse in clean water, let dry, re-install.

It depends on conditions - visually inspect it every 3000 to 5000 miles, and if it starts looking noticeably dirty on one side, clean it out. It should last at least 3-4 cleanings, but I wouldn't claim it lasting forever (unless we built the filter elements from wire, and even then...).

Cheers,
