ragman
Stock 215/45-17 is 24.6" diameter. These at 235/65-18 is 30.0" diameter. 22% larger. I am going to say, not going to fit.

Those are Outback size tires, not LGT. And who knows on the rims as there are no details given (ie bolt pattern, offset).
Dujo
Learn all about wheel and tire sizing on Legacies: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/faq-offsets-sizes-rims-and-tires-gt-xenonk-version-4426.html Then use this tool to really see the difference: http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp You want close to OEM size on snows. And take note, wider is better on summer/all-seasons, but it is not better on snow tires. You want your snow tire to cut down through the snow to the pavement, like a knife. That said, there's no reason to go way down in width. That's why I'm saying close to OEM size. I recommend close to oem on snow tires and go wider on summer tires. By the way, many of us run snow tires on the oem wheels and then get a nicer aftermarket wheel for summer tires. Welcome to LGT.com. Enjoy! ashwinearl
Just an additional thought. 205/50 R 17 are also an option for snow tires and have been suggested and are narrower to cut down to the pavement better. I am recommending against this unless where you live is snow covered all the time. I have these in the Conti DWS Extreme and while they do work well in several inches of snow, 80% of the time it's just cold and I'm on clear/wet pavement. And I live in Upstate NY. 205's really make for some 'light' steering. I wish I had stuck with OEM 215/45 R
