ABS Module Replacement

Hey y'all. My 06 LGT 5MT recently got a CEL and cruise flashing, ERHC on the dash and P0600 code. My mechanic says it's the ABS module that needs replacing. My question is, does the ABS module need to be from a donor car that is also MT, or will a 5EAT work? I was able to grab one off an 06 2.5i 5EAT from my local junk yard.

Are you sure its the ABS? I ask because I had a similar problem but it turned out to be a vacuum leak. The P0600 looks like its related more to the ECM or a harness/connection problem. Here's a quick link regarding the code. https://www.engine-codes.com/p0600_subaru.html

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I’m fairly certain. My mechanic advised me that it was the culprit and when I plugged the module I pulled off the junk yard car the CEL went away. Now I’ve just got to get the correct module because the one I pulled is stamped J1 and I need J2.
