Trailer light problem

Hi,

 

I just finished assembling a Harbor Freight utility trailer, and when I hooked it up to test the lights at first everything was perfect, but when I went to show my wife, the lights started acting up, and I think the trailer light controller in the Outback trailer wiring is going bad.

 

The crazy thing is that the trailer side marker lights still light up, but the tail lights are out, and now when I turn on a turn signal, either one, both side marker lights flash. I think it must be the trailer light controller.

 

Anyone else have a problem like this?

 

I have the factory trailer wiring from the factory trailer kit for a 2008 Outback XT.

had a similar issue with my trailer -- tail lights were super dim, all else was fine. Replaced all the wiring on my trailer (including LED lights),...still didn't work. Only thing left was the Subaru controller module....replaced that, and all was fine. I think I paid about $30 for the module, plug and play.
