ObiWanToby
Was doing the easy 15 minute power streering flush today. I noticed what appears to be my exhaust manifold (exhaust pipe bottom of engine bay below the radiator fans) has a strange hole in it? Do these have heat shields on them? Strange thing is the car seems to run fine ... I took a picture. At the top is the accessory belt, at the bottom of the image you can see the radiator fan. http://i.imgur.com/7Leuvv4.jpg Where you see that rusted bolt, that appears to be a hole? It is difficult to tell if this is some outer coating or if it is an actual issue, especially with the car seeming normal. Any ideas with the pic? gto7419
That's just a heat shield. The manifold is actually really thick cast steel. I haven't heard of any failures of that part and I've been around Subaru's since 03.
