killerniceguy
I just had some V3's installed in my 2012 LGT. I will post a full review after I spend some more time with them, I have had them on the car for only a 100kms. One initial observation is the car bouncing a little just after coming to a stop; it is not extreme but noticeable and was not present with the OE setup. If I was in an older car I would equate it to worn struts, obviously not the case here. I had the KW's installed at KW's specs (verified) and the ride height set to the maximum recommended, it is my daily driver. With the exception of a rear sway bar (19mm) the suspension is otherwise stock. Any thoughts on why it is bouncing? Anyone know where I can find a coilover setup/symptom/faq guide? I am new to this. KNG here are the KW setup specs: Front rebound 6 clicks - front compression 0,75 turns open Rear rebound 7 clicks - rear compression 0,75 turns open
AZP Installs
Since the KW3s are adjustable I would say your struts are probably just set to loose. You are running on mostly the spring so it should feel exactly like a blown strut. I would experiment with the settings to see what feels better but if you are unsure talk to someone who knows those struts and what the settings will do. -Jake http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg Call directly for your best Whiteline Price! | We also carry almost every manufacturer now, so before you buy parts call us. jamal
it could just be bounce in the top mounts, bushings, and tires. But it might be worth it to try an extra click or two of front rebound.

This may be the root of your problem. Any particular reason to get coilovers for a daily driver, in canada none the less? We never suggest coilovers for a daily driver especially in the northern climates, due to the yearly maintenance required and the rebuild intervals to properly keep coilovers in good working order. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpghttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. killerniceguy
I have been able to get them pretty much sorted out now. It is amazing what difference even one click makes. The factory settings for compression are wrong. The 0.75 compression on the front imply it has the sweep method of adjustment, it is in fact a 2mm key on the bottom of the strut with more adjustment than the sweep system. The rear has the sweep system. I am going to call KW and ask them about that today. Why do I have coilovers in Canada? Good question, but the only answer is there is nothing else available and the OE suspension is awful. There are some other products in development but nothing released yet. The service intervals and maintenance are of little concern to me. There are a lot of wrx/sti guys using them up here on DD cars and no reported problems on the local forums. They are stainless and we use little salt on the roads so I expect them to hold up well. Only time will tell I guess My guess is that the higher ride height may have the springs fully elongated. I hear you on the availability, weve installed several sets of the RCE springs and they really make the 10+ lgt handle well. Just make sure to keep up on the cleaning and you should be ok. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpghttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. killerniceguy
Here is KW response regarding compression. Although there are notches you can feel while turning the front compression the measurement of compression is in quarter turns, not the notches. Due to the design of the rear compression adjustment you are unable to feel the notches. The measurement of rebound remains clicks.

AZP Installs
Right, but not just corrosion (which SS isn't imune to) but grime and dirt can get in there and sieze things up if they aren't R&Red every 12-24 months. I've actually seen KW's where the welds for the lower mounting brackets rusted out (not the SS part, but the welds themselves) KW's make a great product, but we still feel that coilovers are not meant for daily driven car, just not their purpose. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpghttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. Levish
I had a similar problem, I have Tarmac 1's (which as far as I know are v2's with linear rate springs). first week super bouncy, after a week night and day difference with no other changes.
