I have 2) '07 OBXTs and between losing parking and my state's clamp down on smogging, I have to make some changes. I've owned this car since '08 and it was a Subie exec demo before I got it from dealer. This was my first Subie and the basis for my indoctrination into this cult. Well optioned model- Momo wheel w shifters, heated seats, AUX input, everything but NAV. Keeping other 6sp OBXT that was to replace this one but couldn't part with it. Now its time

Car is rust free, body has minor cosmetic flaws, scratches and parking lot dimples but otherwise really clean for its age.

Drivetrain-

*new 5eat at 150k

*motor- mild full rebuild shortly after around 163k by former YimiSport builder Berto w JE forged pistons, ARP headstuds, King Racing main & rod bearings etc

*many upgrades- AccessPort, Custom tune: 280bhp/326, Koyorad alum radiator, BNR 16g turbo, Magnaflow cat, K&N typhoon cold air, Tomei = length headers, Mishimoto intercooler-

Invidia catless DP, stock exhaust from cat back

Whiteline 20 mm rear, 22mm front sways, WRX front endlink, EVERY Whiteline poly bushing!, ss lines,

*Bilstein struts, King heavy duty springs on R, JDM Legacy wagon Fronts = approx -1" from stock height

* other recent repairs- p/s pump, both front axle bearings, axles, Denso MAF, OEM injectors, Dersch fuel pump, replace flex plate, Castroil GTX 5w-40 every 3k or less, recent Centric rotors and Akebono F ceramic pads & StopTech Street R(3/19)

* Exterior- XXR 18x8.5=38 blk chrome wheels, 255/45/18 Sumitomo HTR All Season @163K, Hella red horns, HIDs & amber fogs

*Most original OEM parts were kept for return to stock including factory wheels.

Car has roughly 30k on trans and only 14k on motor since 11/19

Have all receipts, clean CARFAX w one small front ender w clueless Lyft driver that didn't even set off airbag- hood/grill only

Many extra parts for sale or add to price- 4)Tokico adjustable struts and LGT lowering springs, saggy butt spacers, LGT front calipers and rotors, 4) 18x8 (+46 think?)ProDrive P1s blk coated, R/L stock headlight assy, stock head unit (radio) and more...

*Registered through 3/21

*90% of work done by master tuner Paul Yeung's shop @ YimiSport in LA

***pictured cargo box/rack stays w me

*********THE RUB!!!!!!! AFTER ONLY 14K MILES OR SO COOLANT IS VANISHING WHICH MEANS 1 OF 2 THINGS: CRACKED CYLINDER SLEEVE OR HEAD GASKET? Either scenario but car is otherwise completely driveable with no issues to speak of. Coolant reserves onboard. It pains me to sell but once I rebuilt motor I couldn't sell. Its a looker after a bath, a true 20 footer but a workhorse that has carried appliances one day then shamed a mustang GT the next. If I can't get a reasonable offer I'll either sell to CarMax or consider getting it cracked open

email for more pics/ info, Michael

I'm unaware of how many folks are actually seeing this ad/post but I confess I'm likely guilty of some unrealistic notions about this car. It is a great driver and I have every confidence in its durability. If anyone is genuinely interested in this car and recognizes some of the value I profess here please feel free to shoot me an email with any inquiries or offer. Im not unreasonable but it is my interest to get it a new home.

Sell all those parts and carmax it with the hg issue. What 6sp xt do you have?
It's from a Spec B. + other goodness. Its a DD so nothing too nutty.

For this one above, I'm getting a quote on how much to crack open the motor to determine the issue and maybe just go a bit bonkers in the sleeper tradition

6300$ for a blown engine with a 5eat. Yer about $5000 too high. 14k on a "built" engine implies the apprentice built it not the master.

Also your ad is confusing. what are you selling? 5eat with blown engine or 6mt with blown engine? or something else? list each car in a separate ad with pictures and information.

You say you have all the stock parts to return to stock but then list them separately? which is it?

no interior pics, no engine pics, no parts pic, no pics of other car, the title is unclear...

also reads like a "feel sorry for me, donate to my gofundme" kind of post. Stuff happens. be honest about issues and list the stuff you are selling for $6300. The roofbox would help your sale, too.

As I mentioned in earlier posts, that was negotiable to any offers from a Subaru enthusiast that might appreciate what I have more than say a dealership that would send it straight to auction and likely not see the value someone on this forum might ....

Sorry for confusion. I have a 6sp OBXT that I have a lot more $$$ into and plan to keep. Thus the "have to sell one" title as I enjoy having both but it is no longer sustainable. This unit has the spare parts to return to stock so apologies if listing some of them was redundant. More info than less seems to make sense up to a point.

As you may know, head gasket is not terminal cancer. It can be replaced and will again be a new plant w only 14k on it. That was part of the offer to have the work done(or not at that amount less) vs toss a perfectly good and highly functional wagon w so many assets.

I am 100% certain it was the master and not the apprentice whom built this motor! Berto personally has built over 100 plants for Yimi. I was very budget conscious after rebuilding it and hesitated on a custom tune after break in etc and original tune created some early pinging that could be responsible for the head gasket issue but that's only a guess.

If you know non-stock Subies you are aware that reliability trails off as soon as you bolt on aftermarket down pipe . Having shit luck unfortunately is baked in or we probably wouldn't have this forum.

....And finally if adding pics were less onerous I would pepper the listing with them as I am hiding nothing and beckoned any interested parties to inquire and I would send them all at the actual size for utmost scrutiny . I felt fortunate to get the ones on there that I did. It was painful.

Yimi is aware of the value and offered me $1800 before I rebuilt the motor so some inherent value is assumed/ validated just by their offer. Shops usually have their hands full and opportunism(read:lowballers) often motivates their offers.

To clarify my position: This car has more value to me as a complete unit and in opposition to our modern "if it breaks, replace it" notions, I won't toss it because of a singular failed component. Due to my lack of parking and enhanced smogging measurements here, it seemed like a good jumping off point. I have options. Just trying to see if this community also may recognize a value here.

While I appreciate your gruff, "just the facts, ma'am" bedside manner BoxKita, it sounds subjective if you misunderstood my tone/humor. Its complicated. I would love to pass this car on to someone who appreciates its value. Im not sufficiently motivated to settle for less than that currently.
