It wasn't a Tomei it was some rip off.. I didn't run the ITB setup because I was using the STi harness I modified it to use a ported fly-by-wire throttle body but, the manifold flow characteristics were still very good and the placement of the piping with my v-mount was perfect. That forester was never tuned but I sold my entire setup to a guy with a sweet red GR STi and we will be swapping into his ride sometime in the summer so I will get to see how it does at some point.

The ITB setup on a Subaru is hard because you have to link all the ports past the throttle bodies to a vacuum block to get enough vacuum to run anything. Using a vacuum assisted brake booster would be really stretching it. I would say the one I had and the Tomei would have been a pain to tune all the throttle bodies as well as the linkage and the power benefits on a daily would have been pretty insignificant unless you have a GT3076 or larger to validate the need in flow efficiency. However putting a throttle body on the end of it makes the entire thing go under vacuum and with its increased flow characteristics it would probably be much better suited for daily driven cars because it would require far less work to tune everything. Also you could run the brake booster and other components like normal

I have actually been looking into getting a Porsche 996 ITB setup and retrofitting it to the EZ30R. I bet that would sound epic…. That would also require a MAP sensor conversion and a Vipec V88. But again that’s another idea for a later time… I am leaning towards keeping this N/A because it’s already got pretty good power curve and since it’s my daily why does it really need to be stupid fast. Dropping compression and doing a supercharger sounds pretty fun but will kill my MPG so bad. I might take the Eaton MP90 I have and make a supercharger kit to sell and use it to deck my heads and regrind my cams with some ITBs. 290-300whp and lots of torque with a higher rpm might be more fun… Also I could make the ITB Velocity Stacks stick just outside the hood like old school Ferraris… Dammit there I go again… haha

So update… I got the wheels they fit great. The fronts they can fit without a spacer but I think I am going to put a 10mm there anyways to bring the wheel out a bit more but the rear needs at least a 15mm spacer to avoid the trailing arm. Any additional camber with anything higher than say a 18/19x10.5 +22 would need a spacer as well. I have my 1" spacers from spacing out my stock wheels I am going to see if I can just run those but if the camber is ridiculous (no offence to the super camber guys) I will drop to a 15mm and get 10mm back. I flared the car because I want my tires to last since this is my DD and I will be putting a lot of miles on her. I'll have pics tonight I hope of the wheels with the flares but it depends on how long it takes to get my tpms sensors out of my stock wheels and the wheels and tires mounted. Worst case I have no plans tomorrow so its strait home after work and a late night in the shop since I don't work Fridays.

Also R-Rev accidently sent me a lip for an 05-07 Legacy and not the 08-09 Legacy. They are taking care of me like you would expect but the new lips are not 100% ready so I bought an 06 STi V-Limited Replica lip cheap from a buddy to stick on there in the meantime to match my side skirt extensions. I’ll have it on there this weekend before I re-install the bumper. I also got some super thin LED driving lights to stick in the small unpainted section of the main air damn of the bumper. Should look sweet at night and maybe during the day people will get out of my why because they will think I am an undercover cop… lol

I bought a full set of the Megan arms so I can dial in the rear perfect. This also gets me the stock arms so if I decide at some point I can make my own set of arms using some higher quality joints and just sell the Megans. I got my lug nuts in too. Burnt Ti finish.... Not neo chrome. They start grey at the base then fade to red then a thin bit gold then purplish blue at the tips. Pretty cool looking and they match my exhaust tips.

Pics soon

Hey all. as promised its update time I got a lot done this weekend.

First off I will start with the flares on the left side. I took some extra time to take pics of the process for how I cut and modify the quarters to prevent rubbing when bringing the wheel out.

First step is to install the flare on to the car. The first side is always easier then the second because you have to match the first so take your time. Then you draw your new higher wheel arch.

Then you cut the outer skin only.

Then I hammer the inner wheel well skin up into the outer skin. Be sure to knock it from the inside out the more metal you can force to the outside the less likely your wheel will rub.

Once its folded up and where you like it you can either solid weld it together or seal it with an epoxy sealer or like me, me to you can tack weld the panels together and fiberglass the seam. I like this because its less time consuming and avoids the chance to warp the quarter from the heat of solid welding.

Here it is all ready for tack welding and glass...

Next was the set the rear suspension. I bought all the adjustable Megan Racing Arms to dial it in perfectly. So I set the flare on and used my donor wheels to check the suspension travel with the rear coilover disconnected from the arm.

At my projected ride height:

At the top of the travel range: No rubbing....

Next up was the exterior goodies. In order for me to get the estimate and check from the insurance to fit the trunk and bumper from the ass face that rear ended me I need to drive the car into town so I figure I could get the most of the exterior finished and just leave the rear alone until after the estimate. Started with my headlights. I bought a new set because my stockers were pretty faded lenses and I wanted something nice and new and clean. So into the oven at 200 dwg for 6 mins and off the lenses came. Then I masked up the parts I wanted to leave chrome…

Then painted the housings black…

Then I stuck them back in the oven and put the lenses on and walla. Sexy new headlights.

Next up was the bumper. I ordered a lip from Rev-R but I got one for the wrong year and the one for my year is not totally finish with production so I bought my buddies used 06 STi Lip and modified it to fit the Lego bumper. After some trimming and fitting I got it just about perfect

Next up was the driving lights. I opted to get rid of my Fogs and bought a set of the 2.5i legacy fog light vent coverers. These lights made enough light for parking lights but not much more. They measure 4x1/2”

Then I trimmed out my new covers. Wired them using a female 9006 plug and just plugged them into the stock fog harness.

So to finish up it was just install all the goodies and give her a bath. Once I get my parts back from paint I will have a new trunk and bumper and a lip spoiler and roof spoiler from Rev R to add. Also my interior lighting.

And to end a night shot of my lights. It was super foggy and my phone doesn't do well with glare so this is as good as it gets....

So thats it for now. Once I get my parts painted I will finish up and fix the back end then its off to Montana. As far as the suspension goes its pretty good I will be ordering a 15mm spacer to get the front out a tiny bit so it matches the rear better. Then the last few projects are to get the exhaust, and intake done as well as some tuning. Sound clips will be provided... :)

Evo X brake conversion is going but will take some time to dial in so that will be an ongoing project I hope to have done and installed by the end of Feb. Might do a couple extra projects if I'm feeling up to it but for now her looks give my old Lego a serious run for her money. Car needs fresh paint I will probubly paint it the same Tuxedo Black my old legacy was done and I have not desided on di-nocing any parts I kinda like the chrome accents and all painted exterior... Anyways thats it for now folks.
