Solgt's "Sleeper Status" Build Thread

Recommended Posts

After about 3yrs of and modding figured I'll share.

I drove it stock for a couple months. Flashed the Cobb ots 93 before going further for S&G to see if it really made a difference and suprise! It was. A very welcome one at that.

Part 1.

Suspension:

Tein 2" springs

WhitelineL 22mm front 2way lower sway

WhitelineL 22mm rear 3way lower sway

WhitelineL f/r endlinks

Engine:

Invidia turbo back

Cobb Ap

K&N panel filter

Resonator delete

Perrin 3 port bcs

Grimm ebcs

TurboXS recirc bov

Made 247whp@6200\330lb-ft tq@4300 @19-20psi by Jermaine@turboxs

Intermission

Worked great till stock tmic end tanks let go. Thus call was placed to Brian at racerx and his tmic was sent out. His charge pipe wasn't available at the time. Still in development phases.

Part 2.

Then head gaskets started leaking and build began.

Sam and Riyaad, Jacob and of course the guru himself Andrew, deserve HUGE Thanks for making this possible!

With the engine out, heads off, inspection was scrutinized for warping of heads or any other possible major worries. None found so progress insued!

Racing water pump

So other than the exhaust led marker lights and license plate brackets from AndrewTech nothing cosmetic has yet been done the car.

The BIGGEST THANKS go to the wife for not killing me for building it while she was pregnant!

Thanks guys for reading. I'll post pics and dyno video later

Whoa... you going FlexFuel? Did your tuner limit torque to 350 because of the tranny? [emoji38]

I'm really interested in Cobbs new device although I'm sure t00ning is uber critical. Maybe after a tmic upgrade. Insufficient air supply was the limiting factor of the power. Thus working on intake. And yes I'm kinda worried about blowing a gear or the whole trans. Knock on wood.

Yes yes....what turbo is it??!! I'm just holding off until I can get a final tune with an proper intake

I've vastly improved the intake so that's a less limiting factor. Now from my readings on the forums the RacerX is just the step over stock when compared to the KillerB unit. So that's the next step. I know I'm basically at the theoretical threshold of driveline components outside of the clutch so I'm not really wanting to push it that far(lol) as this is my daily.

I was exploring the possibility of going flexfuel with Delicious Tuning, and my other friend who's a master mechanic at Ferrari strongly recommend that I don't surpass 350wtq cuz our tranny is basically a 5 speed design and can't take that much. I'm currently already sitting at 350 so I'm not sure if it's worth going thru all that trouble to make little more power, there's also no e85 station in the 50mi radius... :(

It isn't like 350 lbft is some magical threshhold for the transmission I am sure if you are only putting down 300 lb ft and launching your car like a jackhole and flat-foot shifting you will have some issues eventually. If you aren't hard on your car the amount of torque matters less, but then whats the point ;)

I rather not trailblaze to see what is the actual limit of trans and diff is.

Today must've had some thing in the water cause I got hit today by a guy in a Corolla who swerved into my lane without checking first. Instead of slowing down for the suv in front of him making a right. Then tried to evade me. In. A stock. 10' Corolla. FML!!!!!! Tried to say it was my fault cause I was speeding. I mean his rear driver door was at my front passenger door and he swerved into me. In a group of 5 cars he swerved hits my front right with his back left and say I was speeding. Wow. I mean WOW. Good thing for and Hawk brake pads and USAA
