wpgspecb
Well starting off to install my Perrin 1 Piece Divorced Down Pipe, I did all the required research. Checking install docs, heat shield removal, bolt locations, TMIC removal etc etc. The part that scared me was removing the TMIC. Once I actually looked at what needed to be removed, and removed it, the TMIC was in fact the easiest part to remove. Once I got the heat shield off I started on the stock downpipe turbo flange bolts. 4 out of 5 came off without issue. Bolt 2 (center one of the top 3) was seized after about 4 turns. The car has 23,000 kms, and has only seen 1 winter. Without a spare (none were included in the kit) I was done for the night. Not worth risking shearing a bolt off with no spare. I bolted everything back up, and went inside to watch the Detroit/Pitsburg Hockey game. Go Crosby ! Update when I have a spare bolt inhand. Pics to follow. Deaks2
Spray some penetrating oil on all bolts before wrenching. I did the same on my 2006 LGT which has gone through several Quebec/Ontario winters and I had no resistance on any bolt or nut.

First start up. My brother is talking to my dad about voiding warranty and stuff, dad asks if we are going to blow shit up, brother starts explaining that we didn't change anything pre-turbo, or internals. My dad is shooting the video, hence the coffee. I proceed to stand behind the car to check it out, asking my brother to step on it a few times. Hes amazed at how quick the boost gauge reads when you step on it now. http://jasonborowiec.com/specb/downpipe/firststart.wmv On the way home from a night of cruising, at 0:41 you can here a neat backfire. http://jasonborowiec.com/specb/downpipe/drive3.wmv A rear video of moderate acceleration... wind noise gets bad 1/2 way through to the end, but you get the idea. http://jasonborowiec.com/specb/downpipe/drive2.wmv Im so happy. PhillyWilly
what did you use to mount the perrin dp to the stock catback? did you buy a 3" to 2.5" reducer?
rtbrjason
Nice pics for the install. I only removed the stock dp to gut the first cat. I didn't need to remove the TMIC, but I ran into the same problem with the factory crossthreaded bolt. Ended up having to cut it off with a torch
wpgspecb
hey jason, thanks for the comment, we share the same name i guess I was lucky, I said to my bro "do you think we will need to use a new bolt" and with the next turn of the wrench we snapped the nut off after the threads came out of the turbo side.. i guess we were really lucky Jason

We tried a bigger wrench, breaker bar, penetrating oil, finally got the torch out figuring we could heat it and then use a wrench to get it off.. None of that worked and we ended up cutting it off with the torch, and using a new bolt.
