DrMorbius
Okay, I have just gotten an Legacy 2015 with eyesight. Basically love the car and am installing a escort radar detector via a mirror mount. The car has a 'manual' mirror so I am running a smartwire harness from the driver fusebox up to the mirror area. I need to remove the eyesight overhead cover. I have looked at numerous forums, manuals on how to do this and am somewhat embarrassed I can't get the $*&(# thing off. I not a mechanically challenged person, I've worked on numerous other cars; everything from motors to installing sound systems, but this thing seems stuck. I've followed the instructions elsewhere, pull down with fingers to clear clips. I can see the clips near the camera assemblies on each side clear of the holes. The instructions state to move the overhead cover forward (not moving) and release from point 3 (This appears to be a cutoff centered between the camera lens openings. The cover appears to be stuck on this 'point 3'. Most of the instructional sources state to pull hard, well I'm at the point where I'm afraid I'm going to snap something. This is the instructions I've seen all over: https://techinfo.subaru.com/proxy/76807/pdf/076807-h501sal000.pdf Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. You don't need any tools. Just work your fingers under one side of the cover and pull straight down. It isn't the easiest thing to remove, but that's how you do it. DrMorbius
I was pulling from both sides. When I pulled (hard) from one side the whole thing came off without a problem. I would think they should use screws rather then the clip method. Thanks.
