PLEASE READ FIRST

 

The purpose of this post is to compile pictures and information for all available body kits and aftermarket cosmetic options all in one place for both informative purposes and cataloging for posterity. I've been putting off making this thread for a long time mostly because it's going to be a LOT of formatting and info to post. I plan on having a full information post regarding domestic market differences (which I'm still in the process of typing up), as well as links, prices, and info for each and every body kit piece eventually, but like I said, it's going to be a LOT to type up, so it will be a ways out.

 

For now though, I figure I might as well get the posts for each manufacturer in place and the overview images up in the mean time, and work on them bit by bit in the future.

 

"Types"

The various lettered "types" you'll see referenced throughout this thread refer to the model years throughout the Legacy's generation, A being the first, and E being the last. A-C is the pre-facelift, D-E is the post facelift. Also note that Japan denotes model years as 1 year earlier than the USDM does, so the 5th gen Legacy ran from MY (model year) 2009 through MY 2013 in Japan, while USDM was 2010 through 2014. Essentially, USDM 2010 is the same model year as JDM 2009.

 

A-Type: 2009[JDM] (pre-facelift)

B-Type: 2010[JDM] (pre-facelift)

C-Type: 2011[JDM] (pre-facelift)

D-Type: 2012[JDM] (post-facelift)

E-Type: 2013[JDM] (post-facelift)

 

*NOTE*: The majority of aftermarket cosmetic parts are made to fit JDM models only. Due to the differences between the JDM and USDM models, many parts will not fit USDM vehicles. As a rule of thumb when it comes to aero/add-on fitment, front end parts will typically not fit USDM, while side and rear parts typically will fit or can be made to fit easily without much extra work. This is not uniform across the board, just a general guideline to take into account. To fit the majority of JDM OEM or aftermarket front end parts onto a USDM vehicle, a full JDM front-end conversion is required. This includes: front bumper, front bumper support, grille, hood, light brackets, and fenders.

Note: The "JDM" models are the versions of Legacy that Japan and the majority of world markets received with some minor trim and option differences. The "USDM" model is the North American version of the Legacy that was only received in 4 countries: USA, Canada, Korea, and Kazakhstan. For the remainder of the thread, I will be referring to them only as "JDM" and "USDM".

AuDM/ChDM Post-Facelift 2.5X/3.6X - 2013-2014

The 2.5X & 3.6X were factory-lifted Outback-height sedans that were unique to Australia and China. They have specific chunkier front and rear bumpers and side skirts. The front bumper is based off the JDM post-facelift, the side skirts have chrome trim, and the rear bumper is completely unique, and has chrome trim along with a square cut-out that can fit either a trailer hitch or 4th/5th brakelight or rear foglight. To my knowledge, there is no aero add-ons made specifically for the X model, although I'm sure some could be made fit.

Note 1: "##" or "NN" in many of these part numbers signifies place holder characters for a two-character paint color code that would be used if ordering these items from a dealer. JDM part numbers used ##, EuDM ussed NN.

 

Note 2: I researched in both JDM and EuDM parts catalogs for these parts, and noted that for some items, part numbers differed by one digit between JDM and EuDM, where as JDM is typically "-17AJ-", while EuDM is "-10AJ-", so I will be listing both part numbers where I was able to find them. It turns out many of these items have both the JDM and EuDM part numbers imprinted on them.

S-Package Dual Foglight

This is only on the S-Package Demo Car. When I first noticed this setup, I initially thought that DAMD had made a custom molded bezel to accommodate the dual foglight setup. However, once I came across the grille image, it became clear that it was a factory bezel with the plastic mesh cut out, and wire mesh attached, with a circle cut for the extra foglight. How exactly the extra light is mounted is unknown

 

L-Package Fog Finisher

This dark, sunset image is the only image of DAMD promotional material that shows the front end of the L-Package Demo car. In it, we can see a foglight bezel that is a distinctly different shape than the standard L-Package bezel. There are other manufacturers that make finishers for the L-Package front end, but the shape of this one does not match any of them. Any details about this item are unknown, as this is the only image it appears in.

Vented Fenders [uNRELEASED/NON-PUBLIC PART]

These fenders can be seen in several promotional images found on Liberal's Facebook page. I contacted them and asked if these were ever available for sale at any point since there's no evidence on the BM/BR pages on their site, and they stated that they were essentially in-house only and produced for their own cars, and they cannot be made any more. I could find no further information on them online.

I know how to do BB Code image url linking, so the thumbnails will be just somewhat smaller versions of the same pictures that will lead to the full size version of the same picture. Everything is on imgur as well, so it shouldn't be going anywhere for a long time. And if it ever does, I'll do thread maintenance and update it.

Got part way through updating OEM Aero, included part numbers and some descriptions.

Finished updating all of OEM Aero, including part numbers, pictures, and additional details where necessary. Fully updated all of STI including part numbers, pictures, and site links.

Updated first post with overview images of each domestic market model. Planning to add more detail and a full breakdown of the difference between all of them in the future, but that is the bulk of the first post I'm typing up and still have work to do on.
