PortCityLGT
Hi all, I installed a Sparco Pro 2000 seat in my LGT recently (love it - best mod I'd done in a LONG time) and have been irked by the airbag light staring at me from the dash. After some googling, it looks like a 1 watt, 3 or 3.3 ohm (note the units) resistor will act as a dummy and disable it. Great! As per here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4498720&postcount=2, I initially installed the resistor in the yellow plug leading to the seat belt. No dice. I've tried various combinations of it + the other two yellow plugs to the same result. What's going on here? Wrong resistors, not shoving them in far enough, am I putting them in the wrong one, do I need to cycle the battery/ECU?
PortCityLGT
Photographs for the sake of clarity. These are the 2 lines that run to the seat belt holster. Harness on L, holster on R:http://i.imgur.com/NyIBuir.jpg These are the 4 lines which were plugged into things on the bottom of the stock seat: http://i.imgur.com/P89OZeO.jpg And these are the resistors I'm using: http://i.imgur.com/TQuhGx0.jpg
MonopolyMan
Oh man, I didn't know you could do this! What year is your car? The passenger occupancy system is different between a few of the years. I have an 05 personally and also need a way to trick this. Keep me updated if you make any progress! Enlight
Here you go man, you have re-use your seat position sensor from your old seat: https://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=460489&postcount=16 the airbag light fix is pretty simple, well at least for the driver side, i don't know about the passenger side because it has an extra weight sensor. There are 4 connectors under the driver seat. 1 for the seat heaters 1 for the power to the motors to move the seat 1 for the side airbag 1 for the seat position sensor you can just leave the first 2 disconnected. on the one going to the airbag, you just put a 3.3 Ohm/ 2 watt resistor in the connector, and you tape it. but then the airbag light is still on because it is looking for the seat position sensor. That sensor is mounted on the bottom of the driver seat, and it only activates if the seat is all the way to the front, so that the airbag will not inflate at the maximum pressure. I just took the sensor of the seat, it is mounted with 2 rivets, and i just connected it and left in under my seat, It will not be a problem for me because i never sit all the way to the front. Well that's it, the light will go off after you do this. I imagine that i also could have measured the resistance of the sensor, and just fooled it with a resistor, but i haven't tried that yet. Let me know if this makes sence. Enlight
This is the seat position sensor. I took a chisel to it after removing the bracket. You could use an angle grinder too. This is the plug that I put a 3.3ohm resistor in. This disabled the airbag light. I kept my seatbelt and its two plugs that went back to the original location. muFreight.co A JDM Container Sharing Service from Japan to NYC Website | Instagram | Email Bessie II's Thread
