digdug18
Searched already.... Is there a hole built into the firewall already that will accept a 4ga power wire? I'm planning on mounting the amp in the passenger floorboard, under a metal foot rest that will run the width of the sloped portion. And having the carpet on that. This is just powering the front components. Please keep this on topic, I don't need any advice on what speakers/amps, or sound deadening. But am just looking for where others have run their wires at. doublechaz
I didn't find anything good in a quick search. I'll be looking in more depth as I also want to get through with a wire about that size for my wideband.
digdug18
I'll look tomorrow, if I find anything, or where I drill a hole, and place a grommet, I'll let you know.
twisty
i cant remember where i poked through for the passenger side, but i used the cable grommet below the steering column for my main amp run in my wagon as well as my sedan, plenty of room beside the existing stuff in there. if i recall, there was an unused plug i found under there that fit my 4ga cable for the subs. the 4channel runs on passenger side, but my son installed that one so i cant remember where he poked it through
Brighton96
There are a few holes in the firewall for RHD and Manual Trans stuff that you can use, they are currently occupied by plastic caps. The stock harness comes up through the fender though so following that would be the most time consuming but also the most stealthy install. To use one of the unused holes, just take a small diameter rubber hose, cut it lengthwise and push it around the outside edge of the hole to act as a grommet, and also if the hose is large enough, the air gaps will seal up once you stuff the wires are through it. make sense? doublechaz
My A/C goes through the RHD holes. I did find a good hole above and a couple inches right of the accel pedal. From there over the hump to the right side. Helped use up some of the extra cable for my wideband. There was another near the ignitor, but that would have come out so high up behind the dash I didn't like it. YMMV.
digdug18
It's been 2 years since I started gathering parts to run an amplifier. I'm laying fiberglass today for a subwoofer box in the wagon trunk area as well.
cal71919
It's been 2 years since I started gathering parts to run an amplifier. I'm laying fiberglass today for a subwoofer box in the wagon trunk area as well. I put the amp for my sub under the driver seat. The power cable went through the firewall just to the right of the gas pedal. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn151/cal71919/95%20Legacy%20lsi%20wagon/20180620_140801_zpshfwf3dro.jpg http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn151/cal71919/95%20Legacy%20lsi%20wagon/20180620_140851_zpsayq55qte.jpg http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn151/cal71919/95%20Legacy%20lsi%20wagon/20180620_140733_zpszvb6tnws.jpg
