05 Baja Question

I know this is a legacy forum. But I think it's the same car with a different rear. I'm thinking about buying a 2005 Baja Turbo with 140K on it. Any advise on red flags etc?

I am pretty sure that you are correct about it more or less being a legacy but with a few exceptions.

 

I would highly recommend that you get it checked out by a mechanic familiar with turbo subarus prior to purchase and find out:

 

Service history?

Original engine? Original turbo?

Have the banjo screens checked or removed.

It's a gen 2 outback with a reworked hatch, and as it's a turbo motor, they borrowed the driveline from the Forester XT (for the most part).

 

Neat truck. I have one. Same issues apply to it as do most turbo subarus, and subarus in general. There is a baja subforum over on NASIOC that used to be a little more active. . . but NASIOC in general. . . tis a silly place.
