Many thanks to the guys in the how-to thread, finally managed to get my new head unit and sub installed! After annoying people with questions thought I should post a pic of the finished product.

Unfortunatly the height of the boot is about 3/4 of an inch to low to stand my sub box up :(

Car Looks Great! Out of curiosity what is the little ECO button on the left side of your shifter? Is that an early version of the 'Intelligent' mode in S-Drive?

Installed!

Here's the notch I cut out for the JDM hazard button:

...and the finished product:

I'll have to take some photos OUTSIDE of the garage to get some better light. The fit is OK... I notched the tabs on the shifter surround to get everything to line up.

All three pieces are painted a metallic graphite color that I really like--I have lots left & may try to match the rest of the silver inside the car.

^ Great color match!

Actually, it's terrible--all three pieces are painted the same color, and it's nowhere near the original color! It's a metallic graphite sort of color... I really like it. If I can get motivated to remove the rest of the silver in the car, I'll paint the rest of it the same.

How did you get yours to fit so well. I have the gaps like most everybody else does.

I did a little tweaking... dremeled the left side of the tabs at the top of the shifter surround... but I do have gaps. It doesn't fit as factory, but it's as close as I can get it.

Sorry I've entered this late. I ended up doing a single din setup with the JDM HVAC a couple of years ago. The funny thing was that Crutchfield sent me the Base legacy setup, which I cut with a Dremel. I imagine they have a double din setup. The biggest advantage was that I didn't have to do any cutting in the car.

I just did the double DIN radio installation. It is easy on the EUDM as the i88 connector is the same as the JDM one. No need of an adaptator. Just plug it in. I tried to keep the steering wheel controls using an Axxess interface but failed. It recognises automaticaly the wiring to the car (pin 19 of the 20-pinned connector to the Axxess box, pin 20 to the ground) and the Alpine radio, but forces the volume up to the max without me pressing any button. I tried to programm it manually, but it never recognises the volume up button, the first one to programm, when I press it. I even tried with the pins 12 and 11 respectively as I was not sure that I looked at the 20-pinned connector the right way. I gave up :spin:

I also connected an amp placed under the passenger seat. Wiring was easy passing the battery wire through the gum of an harness behind the glove box then along the passenger door.

The only adaptator you will need for the EUDM is an ISO -> 14-pinned Subaru connector. The harness on the right (Alpine -> ISO) comes with the radio.

I put a pic here but I still need to work on the fitment to eliminate some gapes. It was late yesterday evening...

I'll get some better pics--the dye is a custom mix, I'll put up the codes as well when I walk down to the garage. I really dig it, too.

Sorry to bring this back up.... But.... did you ever post up the brand and color code you used? I'm sure I can figure a color close to yours, but I really, really like the color you used! Plus it has just the right "flatness" to the shine. Not to shiny not to dull. :)

How difficult would this be for someone who has never used this before? I used to make R/C airplanes many, many years ago and used Monocoat for the wings and body. I was okay using that, but not perfect.

I like this 3M stuff that you used as it looks like it would hold up to scratches better than paint. Thanks for the link to the dark matte finish! Your install looks awesome!

It was my first time trying to wrap something, and I think the result is real good.

Just follow the instructional video on the Ebays page and with your past experience in R/C you should be ok.
