Hey :)

Welcome to my thread. This is my first Subaru ever. I have been looking at these cars for 3-4 years, and when I finally found the right one, with all the right equipment, I just had to get it.

My requirements were that it had to be black, it had to be the Premium edition, sunroof, detachable tow bar, navigation screen, and black leather interior.

I bought this car in july, and I have already managed to do a few modifications to it. :D

From when I picked up the car:

My first mod was to de-badge it, remove licence plate holders, and remove the rear wiper.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/923/pijBSb.jpg

After that, I installed the JDM HVAC 2-DIN kit. Unfortunately, the original navigation screen was dependent on the oem radio to work. However, I refused to accept that the screen would always be off. So I dismantled the OEM radio to make it as small as possible. Then I found my bayonet saw, and made room for the OEM HU inside the dash, under my new HU. And voila - I had two functioning screens. :D The new HU has DAB radio, Spotify, Bluetooth handsfree, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay etc.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/924/WnO0jb.jpg

Then I ordered a set of brand new US tail lights. These came from SubaruPartsDirect in Washington.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/923/MnHUDF.jpg

Then I painted my front grille, and the chrome-strip on the tailgate.

And finally, last week, the package I had been waiting for, for 6 weeks, arrived. KW Variant 2 coilovers.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/923/yZlgjx.jpg

I need a set of new wheels, but that will have to wait for the spring. Winter is right around the corner anyways.

The next on my list is probably the exhaust. :)

Yes, these are for Legacy Wagon.

I have fitted these with rear Legacy top mounts, and rear Legacy bump stops (since these differ from Outback ones).

Eivind,

I speak with my local kw dealer to buy this reference, you know if its ok to 2.5i 2007???

Which references for rear top mounts and bump stops?

At front all runs ok without modification?

Regards!

Hello,

Yes, I think these would fit 2.5i 2007.

Legacy rear bump stop:

20501AE000 / 20501AE00A

Legacy rear top mount:

20370AG000

Runs ok without modification with stock wheels.

I will get wider wheels with lower offset later, and will then have to modify the arches.

Just stumbled across this, it's coming along nicely! I had no idea they made a 2.0D Outback. That's pretty cool. How many km/L does something like this get?

To add to it, looks like leather + a stick shift. Also, is that shifter surround OEM or custom?

True, a 5MT limited is extra delicious. That's the EDM shifter trim, which i think looks fantastic as well. Way better than our square stuff.

Thanks. :)

On highway driving i've been down to 5 l/100 km, which is about 47(US)/56(UK) mpg. Which is pretty economical for an estate AWD car. :)

Yes, it is a full black leather interior, and also a 5MT. Shifter surround is OEM. :)

Will update with more pictures later.

Great job and I really like the photos, too. I love what you did with the center stack. How did you get that low-key matte black finish? Was that OEM for Europe or did you change it somehow? Thanks for showing us your project.

Lower section of the “center stack” (starting at ashtray, and going back to the center console) is OEM EDM and the double din section is OEM JDM.

Thanks. :) As WRX USA stated, it is OEM. Matte black finish is also OEM.

Thats for the detachable tow bar.

(picture)

The "square thing" is a plastic cover for the hole where the tow bar is inserted, and the "round thing" is the electrical connector.

i wish we had something like that. is it from Subaru or an afternarket hitch supplier? should send one stateside for us to tear apart and replicate. if it fits under a euro bumper, it'll work for us.

all of ours hang lower than the spare wheel well, by say 2 inches. would be cool to get something more flush/stealth.

The make of the hitch is AL-KO, but I think Subaru and AL-KO must have had some sort of agreement, since all Subaru Legacy/Outback on the used marketplace in Norway with a hitch, has this type.

From googling I found this:
