Exactly. I don't get what's 'greener' about a modern day passenger vehicle diesel, given all bits, pieces and resources that have to go into them per today's EPA standards.

Just to add to the above, run the DEF tank out and the vehicle goes into limp mode or shuts-down completely to satisfy the EPA. DEF is also ~$3/gal for generic stuff and twice that for OEM.

I love diesels, just not a passenger vehicle ones.
