Exhaust shop has no tig welder? But yes, the heads being replaced is a better long term fix IF this is far more than just the stud.
I can't believe the head is cracked there from just removing the manifold, even if the stud broke.
256,000miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
