Let me tell you about an oil filter that was crimped during installation badly enough to start leaking a few hundred miles later. Looks like the plier type filter removal tool was used to install the new one, and this was a dealership shop. I think I even have a picture.

One of my "free" periodic services ended up costing me an oil filter and almost as much time replacing the bad filter and cleaning up the mess as it would have taken me to have just done the oil change myself in the first place.
