So, I have another follow-up from SOA in which I asked if there were any specific changes to the OIC and Oil types recommended beyond the manual. Seems like a similar message others have posted here...
BUT, at least they are admitting to the line filters AND say they do not need to be serviced. That part is interesting...

"Thank you for your patience while we handle your case. I was able to
research your inquiry a bit further and wanted to provide you with some
additional information.

The recommendations for the type of engine oil to be used are the same
for every Subaru vehicle, regardless of whether the vehicle has a turbo
charger. We would recommend that you refer to the owner's manual for oil
viscosity information.

The oil change intervals are also the same for turbo and non-turbo
vehicles, except that for 2007 and newer turbo models. Subaru now asks
owners of 2007 and later turbo models to follow the severe maintenance
schedule of 3,750 miles. Subaru Service has not issued this
recommendation retroactively to owners of 2002-2006 models. Your
warranty and maintenance booklet offers a schedule or recommended
maintenance that recommends an oil change every 7500 miles. However,
since the turbo chargers operate under similar conditions you may want
to consider following the severe maintenance schedule.

Finally, no maintenance is required on the oil line filters themselves.
The main engine oil filter is the only filter that needs to be changed
during a routine oil change.

I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have
any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me again.
Thank you for your patience and we wish you continued safe, happy miles
on your Subaru Legacy GT Wagon."
