You know, now that I think about it, it could also be a fuel delivery issue. Check your fuel pressure before and after your filter, or just change the filter for good measure. They are pretty cheap

Both of mine have done that for years, but only if I let it go ALL the way down. If it does get stuck, I just hit the window lock switch on then back off and it works every time.

Most fuel pressure testers come with a T fitting....

Most fuel pressure testers come with a T fitting. Use it to test the fuel pressure pre-fuel filter and post filter. That way you can tell if it's the pump it self or the filter.

There is a stamped plate on the drivers side...

There is a stamped plate on the drivers side (Lhd) strut mount under the hood. On it there is a number for engine family, it will either start with EJ25D... or EJ22E...
Also in that gen, the 2.5L's...
