Hey All! It's been a bit since my last update - I've had some good progress on the wagon I wanted to share out - I purchased a set of Tein, Legacy BG specific coilovers. Sadly the seller lied & they're all blown. However, I am going to have Tein USA rebuild these at some point this year. I'm also investigating top hat options that I'd like to run - Painted & installed a JDM late model year rear bumper - Installed a super rare "Sheep Dog" BG5 axle back. Still need to add a resonator I purchased to cut down some of the highway drone - Removed the JDM aero guards. I think it looks a bit cleaner & stream lined without them. With that said, I am holding onto them should I change my mind down the road - Installed forged 17" BBS RG. These are the dealer option bugeye WRX ones. I like them! I also had my Rays anodized locking lug nuts installed (blue) - Still need to put on my 5mm wheel spacers to push them out just a bit closer to the fenders - Rebuilt the JDM 4 pot calipers, installed Centric 125 cyro treated rotors, Hawk HPS + street pads and flushed the fluid with ATE 200 amber. I've had the setup for over 500 miles but haven't laid into the brake pedal to feel just how hard they will bite. Brake pedal/feel has been greatly improved! - Did the valve cover gaskets & a complete tune-up I still deeply love the car but am admittedly getting bored with the lack of power. I have a '16 Golf 1.8TSi that I plan to go APR Stage 2 with that will hopefully fill that void in my life! This is the route I'm thinking to go. I'd really like a EJ207, however if a locally wrecked WRX were to show up for the right price I wouldn't mind grabbing everything off of one car & having iWire do a harness merge for my goals.

It's so great to have the car back! It's been about a month now since I picked it up from the swap and put around 500 miles on it. Driving impressions: Unsurprisingly, the car is a completely different animal behind the wheel. I have fallen in love with it all over again. The transmission is just about perfectly geared for city driving. The gear set is short (4.11) and so the car has become very much so more rev happy. I think 2nd gear hits redline right at 50mph. At highway speed it definitely sits higher up in the rev's at 75-80mph. IIRC 80mph is at about 3,850 RPM. On the drive back from Portland to Seattle I thought this would affect fuel mileage more so than it did. I got 27mpg's for the tank! That is seriously awesome for this wagon. With the KRTBOY short shift kit + bushings shifts are crisp and direct, never harsh. It feels sporting but not too notchy. I might look to upgrade the carrier bushings at some point down the road as there is a little negligible play from side to side. Overall it feels very young and rowing my own gears has never felt better! I'm loving it. Other Updates: I purchased an RFRB front grill. I'm not sure if I like the SYMS or the RFRB more.
