Mudflaps: RA or Flapatax?

both RA and flapatax are overkill and too big for my taste..

~Tend to agree. But with the snow, slush and gravel during the winters here something to help keep the crap off the car and decrease the amount of grime thrown up on those you pass would be nice.

~Are you aware of another brand that is not so big?

search around amazon.com. I picked up a set for my '10 and while they looked big, I think they fit good on the car for winter. While it did take a little bit longer to install, no holes, the end result is nice.

I know this is not helpful without photos, will post some later.

Here's a few pics of mine (cutting boards), I forgot to put these up earlier (dirty car, iphone camera):

those turned out pretty good. I don't have a garage or a heated place to work, other than my apartment (which is quite cluttered at the moment) Plus I'm OCD so I think going with a pre-cut/fitted set is what I need to do! lol.

The kid that makes the Flapatax flaps lives down the street from me. He's a cool guy. His screen name on most forums is Pumpkyn. Everyone calls him PK. His flaps are good. I had them on my old 96' Impreza. The material is very heavy duty. If you are handy with a dremel or razor knife you can change the holes to slots and adjust the placement of the flap to where it sticks out more or is flush/inset. But for the price they are a great deal! And a great product!

*When I get my lift spacers installed I might have him make me a set for my Outback but I'm still debating on if that's the look I want.

I personally know Mike, the guy behind Flapatax. His products are of high quality and quite popular here in Utah. I wouldn't call him a "kid" though, lol.

I don't use them because I am not a fan of mudflaps aesthetically on the 05+ body styles, but I would choose flapatax over RA. Function > form some say, I've considered a set for winter months.

I currently have Flapatax. I got them when he first started out. I really like the looks of them. I have used them both on and off road, and these are sturdy!

I ordered a set of Flapatax Simplified last night. Can't wait to get them. I snapped this pic earlier today... as you can see I really need mudflaps for my daily commute.

It might just be me, but I think RA flaps look like butt.
