Another LGT bites the dust

Recommended Posts

Ran my car into a telephone pole at 30mph. Fell asleep behind the wheel and woke up after the airbag deployed. Car is totaled but I am ok. Looks like I will be without an LGT for a while.http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p553/thaight91/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_9075.jpghttp://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p553/thaight91/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_7429.jpghttp://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p553/thaight91/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_3682.jpghttp://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p553/thaight91/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_9312.jpg

Doubt I will be parting it out but who knows. Now I am stuck with my wife's prius. After last night I wont be getting another LGT or anything like it for a while. I'll keep you all updated though.

Sorry to hear about the accident, but pretty lucky to be posting on the forum after that type of accident only 12 hours later.

"Bullet-proof" your OEM TMIC! <<Buy your kit here>>

Not currently in stock :(

Your insurance may be on the hook for the pole too. Those suckers are expensive. Glad you're okay. Looks like the strut tower has damage. Collapsed in the front without transferring all the force into the cabin. Just like it's supposed to. Looks like block is probably untouched/okay.

Ouch. That's a lot of damage for 30mph.

Not really. Impulse = force x time. He did not hit a car or something else similarly "soft". He hit an immovable, unyielding object.

Frankly, I doubt he would have fared so well if he were in a lesser car or was awake and rigid at the point of impact. The fact that he was relaxed probably helped a lot. OP, you need to go get checked out. Could be soft tissue injuries that you are not feeling yet. That was a lot of kinetic force.

Anyhow, I loath Prius. I feel your pain. Hope you are able to forgive yourself. Hope even more that you work out a way to get another LGT of similar vintage.

I was checked out yesterday. I tore part of my abdominal muscles from the seatbelt not sitting properly. Other than that Im just sore. I doubt I will get another LGT for quite some time. My wife wasnt very fond of it. If anything I'll end up buying a good commuter car. Maybe a Chevy Malibu. I dont have gap coverage so I am kinda screwed on the lgt atm. Going to end up owing 3-4k after insurance.
