new lgt from socal
Hi guys/gals
The name is Aaron but every calls me Gillis
Picked up a 2005 obp lgt back in June after owning and rergreting the purchase and payment of an Audi S4 for three years draining my pocket book just to keep it running.

Have had Subaru 2.5rs 1999 and a SR Swapped 240 and my first car 1973 Dodge Challenger

Now I am proud owner of the lgt and a 95 impreza coupe

Welcome to another SoCal brother and glad you joined us.

The site has a lot of information, technical and experiential, so check it out. Search is robust, but if you can't find something, let members know you're not finding what you need. Someone will get back to you.

Also, recommend you check-out the SoCal forum for local meets, parts and assists. Lots of great guys and gals there.

Again, welcome.

So just got the car back had a smfw and the fx300 clutch installed and seems So much better So far. The clutch engagement seems lighter than the stock.

Yeah the CM is like butter. Too soft for me actually but certainly a highly respected and high quality clutch setup. Many consider the feel superior to stock.

subiegillis 10-03-2012 01:02 AM

Oh Yes .. you will have me at subiefest.... been helping organize the caravan from the northern LA county.... and it just keeps getting bigger Lol . Was suppose to be antelope valley , Bakersfield and SANTA clarita but now people from Fresno join the Bakersfield guys and we are meeting more in sylmar... bigger the better Lol

SBT 10-03-2012 06:45 AM

Jealous y'all are going to SF. Have fun and say hi to everyone for me.

LosAngelesLGT 10-03-2012 10:09 AM

I will most likely spend much of the day either with Spiderpig (my show lgt) or at the Infamous Performance Vendor booth getting some shade. PM me for contact info if you want to make sure we all meet up.

I am rolling in at door opening. I'm not about to play with a caravan right after a detail if I can avoid it but I'm sure its going to be fun.

Well I got to meet lalgt and his spiderpig at Subiefest yesterday.. which gave me more inspiration to do my car

Also got to meet m sprank aka Mike got to talk to him for a bit about different parts and what part to go with... and got to talk about cooling on Subaru that they pretty good... well guess what I need a new radiator now Lol went to go to 86FEST this morning, got about 10miles stopped for gas... smelled some coolant thought it was the guy next to me in his old beat up pickup.... Yup it wasn't... opened my Hood and they was spray on the intake cowl and engine cover... So get to look tomorrow where it is coming from..... but I must say all in all it was a great weekend... this Legacy has brought me back in to contact with some old Subaru friends and I think I made a few new ones over this pass weekend

Oh and saw this amazing Wing at 86fest .. been looking for it for yrs never been able to find it and it was a real S201 wing

So Jelly. You should have mentioned you were going to 86fest. I was supposed to go to Glen Helen but knocked out my "Honey-do" list instead as a thank you to the wife for being so supportive and coming out to Subifest.

subiegillis 10-07-2012 09:49 PM

It was an good event .. I knew one of the main guys for it the owner of several other Subaru forums I am on So I mainly went to support him but they had a pretty good turn out of about 1500 people... and also saw the Crawford brz get crashed into by a brand new mclaren and that got towed out destroyed Oh Oh with dealer plates on it Lol some one had a bad day I think

LosAngelesLGT 10-07-2012 10:00 PM

The Crawford guys have always ALWAYS been really good to me. Always taken time to talk shop, always taken time to explain the little things on their show cars, always expressed interest in what I have asked and been doing and have offered great advice from their own personal experience.

I also said several times as the Crawford car went by that I wanted a full tilt passenger ride in it.

subiegillis 10-08-2012 03:03 PM

So found the leak... pin hole spot top of the radiator

I just replaced mine and I'm starting to smell that same weird kool-aid powder scent, but I don't see any leaking or anything. It's weird.
