  1. I figured this group would enjoy this story the most since I'm sure most of you are as car crazy as I am. I bought a OBP 2007 Legacy 2.5i brand new in March of 2007 after a Honda Accord I had for a month and a half was totaled in an accident and a VW Passat I had for 3 weeks was a lemon. I had the Legacy for 8 1/2 years and put over 172,000 miles on it. I loved the car and I loved that it lasted so much longer than my previous two cars. In October of 2015, I traded the Legacy in for a 2016 Outback. The Outback is a great car and I needed something bigger, but I did miss the Legacy. In May of 2020, I bought a SWP 2005 Legacy GT to have as a fun car and to keep the miles off the Outback. It reminded me alot of the '07, and felt like I was back home in that car. There are some things that needed fixed on the '05 and I'd look at the online inventories of the local junkyards to see if any Legacies or Outbacks would come in. Yesterday, I notice a black 2007 Legacy was delivered to one of the junkyards and clicked on the image because it looked just like my old one. I notice the VIN on the junkyard's page and thought "That looks familiar". I found an old registration and sure enough it was my old car. So I went to the junkyard today to see what I could take off the car as momentos and to see if there was anything I could use on the '05. My original plan was to take the door and hang it on the wall in my garage, but it had a few dents in it and I didn't feel like putting much work into an ornament. Instead, I got the spoiler and grille to hang up, the badges off the trunk, and I did get a couple of the clips that attach the grille to the radiator support, so there are parts of the car that will live on in the '05 GT. I'm not sure why the car was sold to the junkyard, but it's sad to think that the car I bought brand new over 14 years ago and enjoyed for 8 of those 14 years will never move again under its own power and will eventually be crushed just 12 miles from the dealership where I bought it from. It was odd to say goodbye to it today and to drive away from the junkyard in the Outback with the Legacy's parts in the back. Anyway, I always wanted to know what happened to the cars I used to own and I thought it was very cool to be reunited with one, even if it was at the junkyard. The first two pictures are from the day I bought it and the third picture was taken today. Goodbye, old friend.
  2. I live in Winter Haven, but work in Lakeland. Probably moving to Lakeland soon.
