  1. So what happened? Did the Uhaul guy or insurance make it right? Or were you screwed? Also who impounded it and auctioned it?
  2. Awesome! I am glad it’s what you were looking for. Should be good for another 100k!
  3. Yeah supras aren’t even that great of cars until you put $20,000 into them with aftermarket parts. I’ve owned two of them. I actually preferred my 300ZX TT more. And the new Supra the manufacture actually left things unfinished and parts not installed to specifically cater to the aftermarket crowd. Come on at least finish the vehicle if you are going to charge tens of thousands in dealer mark ups and hype. And yes the manufacture can influence dealer marks ups.
  4. I do agree those are some great cars to answer a request but like the article says too much money. The Supra is a total dud. And with dealers asking for $25,000 markups it’s not even a good deal. I do have a Pontiac G8 and it’s a very nice car.
  5. Got my exhaust done yesterday. I’ll post pictures as soon as I can. Used a custom y pipe and hung passenger hangers. The spots were already there with bolt hole in place but I had to enlarge them to 3/8” to use the hangars I bought. Now I have dual exhaust. It looks much better and doesn’t sound too fart canny. Used magnaflow mufflers with 4” tips. Used two hangers on the muffler and one on the midpipe. Clearance was good with my rear diff and RSB. Close but still plenty of room and it looks very factory. Total cost was $481.
  6. I think your turbo and exhaust will line up. It seems that so much on these cars is interchangeable. I’ll bet someone could piece one together from over a decade using all different year parts. A frankensubie
  7. I don’t know if they both have the same power steering pump also. Would be interesting to see though.
  8. I agree the Whiteline with the extra braces is a great option. I think if anything more than DD they would be necessary. I have read others who have had the supports break off when driving rallycross. I do hope my KYBs last a while with the Eibach. The Konis are definitely a better shock but I just couldn’t justify the money on a car I drive 50-70k miles a year. It’s literally just to get me to work and back.
  9. Exactly. But at this point one would think that Subaru would be upgraded to DOT4 by now. I mean 5.1 yeah not expecting that but they make the STI they make the XT and are selling well so why not get with the program of many many other manufactures and get to at least 4
  10. Speaking of brake fluid. Dealer did a flush today and put in DOT3. Really? They couldn’t spring for DOT4. Its practically the same exact price. Ugh. Hate taking my car there. I know more than most of their mechanics and every time I go they start asking me questions about stuff they didn’t know for other customers. I feel like sure I’ll be happy to help..... but DOT3 really that’s all you got? Haha.
  11. Today I finally nailed down the constant rattling sound from my front suspension area. It was my brake caliper mounts. They are a tiny bit too small and the pads rattle in them while the brakes are not applied. Went to my subaru dealership who said yup known issue subaru made an update mount for it. $165 late I left with 2 updated mounts. Gonna change them tomorrow and see how it goes. Dealership did a brake fluid flush today and used DOT3. Kind of Td me off cause they could use DOT for almost the same exact price. Dang stealership.
  12. So all last week I put in new Eibach Pro springs, KYB. excel G struts, all new lower control arms (needed all bushings and ball joint so was cheap and easier to just buy the whole arm) Whiteline 22mm RSB and front and back Whiteline Endlinks. Contrary to rallysport directs website the correct part numbers for Whiteline endlinks for my 2013 2.5 premium are the KLC172 and KLC182. They fit like a glove. Everything went together really well over a two day period which mostly was my shocks and springs. All in all I have an alignment scheduled for tomorrow morning and I got 4 brand new tires last night. It handles about 200% better than it ever has. Just a really great sturdy planted feeling. It has no sag and almost no noticeable body roll under normal driving and higher speed rolling corners. Wish I would have done this years ago. Prices are below KYB Excel G $316 Eibach proline 1” drop $99 Whiteline RSB $224 Whiteline End links $244 total for all 4 New lower control arms W/all bushings and ball joints $142 And my tires I got at Costco $640 for all 4. Bridgestone Touranza Quiet track. They are really quiet and comfortable
  13. 2013 legacy premium I stretched the hell out of a new bolt and the old one using 89 ft lbs and I even stepped it up in 10 ft lb increments. I eventually went to a nut and bolt store and got a real grade 10 bolt nut and two washers I then went to 89 ft lbs no problem. Good luck.
  14. STI May indeed be overkill. What about these https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/subaru,2013,legacy,2.5l+h4+dohc,1504361,brake+&+wheel+hub,caliper,1704 Pretty much OEM powder coated. I was thinking those with good pads might be all that I need?
  15. OEM everything. The pins have play or the bracket I’m not sure subaru explained it to me a while ago but I just dealt with the noise over every bump. My dealer has the STI calipers for $799 a piece and I get a 50% discount that’s why I said $400 I may as well try for the upgrades lol.
