  1. On my 2009 it is 4ish quarts with pan only drain and fill. Empty or with a DIY flush the manual states 10.2 quarts and I estimate that my cooler (smallest Long TruCool 4451 with dimension of 4"x12"), lines and Derale thermostatic bypass valve to be about an additional 12-15 oz. Rumor has it that the 5 EAT do better a little low versus a little overfilled and I run my between the "H" and "L" marks. When checking, I seem to get an easier fluid level to read after shifting into "R" and "D" for 10-15 seconds between EACH level check. I also remove just the TMIC bracket on the driver's side (really easy to do) to give me more room and make the checks easier.
  2. Thanks Flinkly. Thought it would be something like that. Got my mechanic gloves ready. Later
  3. Well, I may have bit off more than I can chew on this one. I started this delete because I needed to change spark plugs. Read the walkthrough numerous times, got the block off plates and started out on the driver's side and things were going fine. However, when I got over to the passenger side I began to think I am out of my league because it seems that the intake manifold and at least the turbo inlet will need to be removed to complete this mod. Is this true or is there some way to pull this off without removing these major components? Thanks, Tim
  4. Can this be fixed or does the switch need replacing? Thanks!
  5. Only doesn't upshift manually properly from the wheel paddles, or doesn't upshift properly in normal drive or sport mode as well? If it's just manually from the paddles, that does sound like faulty electrics there. ~Only in manual mode. Works fine in automatic mode The lack of downshift to second is manual or auto mode? What on earth do you mean by the cooler being blocked off? Removed from the cooling loop? If you block that loop, that's not a good thing. ~Downshift issue only in manual mode; works fine in auto mode ~The air is blocked from the cooler fins with a piece of cardboard only. It is in series with the OEM radiator cooler. Not throwing a code is good. Seems like the TCU keeps pretty good tabs on the trans, so if it was a VB issue or the actual vs. selected gear was different, it would let you know. Thanks for the reply! I think the contact points on the upshift paddle are dirty and will try to clean. If switch is faulty, doubt SOA will doing anything about it with 63K miles on the odo. Will just use auto mode or shift with the console lever and get it fixed after I get the F1 VB mod when available.
  6. I have developed a worsening problem (only while in manual mode) of the 5 EAT randomly not upshifting. Sometimes it takes 3-4 pulls on the paddle to finally get the tranny to upshift. ~Worse while car warming up but continues less frequently when car warmed. ~Does NOT occur when using the shifter handle to upshift. ~No issue with downshifts from either position. ~Randomly, after slow drive in second gear (like in a parking lot pulling up to a stop sign), after stopping to pull out onto street the tranny does not automatically downshift to first requiring me to pull downshift paddle. ~Have had the tranny reprogramed at dealership twice without fix. ~No codes being thrown. ~I have the smallest LongCool tranny cooler on but it is blocked off until I recover from back surgery enough to install the bypass thermostat. Is this a malfunction of the upshift paddle switch (like dirty contacts), TCU or a VB problem? Or ???? I could not find anyone else with this problem after a search. Any ideas on what could be the problem? Thanks
  7. Overall the Prodrives (behind CNT catted DP, stock mid and Y pipes) have much less exhaust aroma, are slightly quieter than a stage 2 washer Hogzaust at idle, have no unpleasing highway drone but scream nicely at WOT. Just right for me and my wife. I have not tried to do a sound bit of these, but will try. Otherwise, there is a Prodirve behind upgraded mid/Y-pipe sections here http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/exhaust-audio-video-clip-compilation-thread-102170.html
  8. ^ Agree, that enhanced Subaru rumble >>>>> any little stink or headache. That being said, I totally enjoyed the Hawgzaust for two years while I saved and waited for the Prodrive cans I have now. Viva la Hawgzaust!
  9. Finally got around to doing this mod. Good schtuff, well engineered. Now boostin' with more peace of mind.
  10. Probably should report my experience for the good of the Forum: Revolutions Performance in Colorado Springs could not service what they sell. I simply had one question about the need for an upgraded tune for a given mod since I lived 250 miles away at the time. No one would return my 3 phone calls nor respond to my 2 emails even though I was encouraged to call and send data logs to make sure all was well after the original tune. Maybe Adam or Matt were sick or something but when I inquired regarding this to give them the benefit of the doubt, I was told he would be back in touch with me. Seems like lip service now. Way too much $ for what I got; IMHO. Totally different story with Cryo.
