  1. I'll also be hanging onto my truck for a while yet. Turns out the dealer I bought it from didn't disclose severe structural damage to the rear frame. There are no accidents reported, this was just brought up at Carmax when they were able to see Auction disclosures on Experian Auto Check. I half wonder if its just from rust, as I looked and didn't see any bends/pinches, repairs, or cracks any where, and I've towed upwards to 10k pounds with it a few times. Regardless, Carmax will milk that shit and only offered me 12k :D. Even listed they would need to replace the rear bumper, and there is zero wrong with the current one. Oh, and a transmission replacement because it downshifts a little hard lol bunch of crooks, the whole industry. Good thing I love my truck, but was really looking forward to a 3.6r outback build.
  2. Everything is overpriced these days . The new gen WRX has grown on me a good bit. Rear bumper and taillights are still meh though.

Considering getting back into a Subaru The truck has been nice, but I've taken care of most of my home improvement supply hauls and don't have much use aside from picking up free shit on facebook lol I figure a 5x10 trailer will be plenty for my needs if I can land a 3.6r outback. Either way, looking around for a wagon as long as I can get a good offer on the truck. Happy 2024 car hunting all!

  5. SOLD. Settled at $4000. Much lower than I would have liked, but buyer was serious and helping out a refugee (good story either way lol). Registration, taxes, and insurance were also motivated to get it out of my driveway.
  6. yep, which is why I'm salty it had to be replaced at all. Been so well maintained and probably will go 300k+ strong with just normal maintenance items. Just need to find the right buyer.
  7. The valve body I've read a lot of folks have had to replace, solely due to a solenoid failing (low voltage usually). Subaru doesn't sell the solenoid individually, and 3rd party marketplace solenoids can be hit or miss. The issue arises when doing the replacement, the valve body is attached to the transmission so you're essentially opening it up as well. Some model CVTs have the valve body on top, others on the bottom. I'm actually unsure which mine is. The reason I opted not to DIY is that the valve body has a lot of little parts - sensor harness, o-rings, bolts, etc. and can be finicky. The story I got was the tech 'mis-placed' an o-ring and ended up getting sucked into the tranny. The 2013 CVT is actually known to be pretty strong - in response to sprank. I don't remember the information precisely, but there was a change/improvement at some point during the 2013 model year - hence the diff location of the valve body itself. I never had a problem, which is why I pushed back on the dealer to provide me detailed information as to why the tranny was slipping when there were no signs of transmission issues previously and plenty of recorded cases of the valve body being replaced without further issues.

Some minor interest on FB marketplace but nothing serious. At this point I just want the space in my driveway lol Background: Up for sale is my meticulously maintained, 1 owner '13 Legacy. My wife (then gf) bought it new in PA in Sept 2012 to be a reliable commuter for graduate school. It averaged about 30k mostly highway miles a year for the first 3-4 years, hence the high mileage. All required maintenance performed on recommended schedule intervals. The first 90k were at a local Subaru dealer in PA, and since then has been a combination of DIY, dealer work, and Mach V in Sterling. A couple shops here and there for tire rotations and oil changes when scheduling was tight. When I had the chance during maintenance items, I upgraded where it made the most impact, primarily suspension since it's not a GT. A few minor hiccups along it's journey which I will list below as well. When purchased new it cost 22,500. I wish we could find cars this nice today at that price point. Summing up my excel sheet log book is about $15k+ in maintenance over 10.5 years. Mods/Improvements: - Koni Inserts w/ H&R springs - Superpro and whiteline front LCA bushings - 20mm WRX rear sway bar - Nameless Axelback exhaust w/ muffler delete - welded in 5 inch Magnaflow muffler afterwards - Stitched leather steering wheel and shift knob wrap - Side windows are tinted (rear and front eyebrow no longer due to windshield replacements) - Fumoto valve on oil drain pan Flaws/Asterisks: - Dings and Scratches expected for this mileage - Center console arm rest has a few dimples from dog paw - didn't break through - 2 incidents that I've buffed out; A gate and parking garage pole jumped out at my spouse - Front bumper tabs under headlights have been damaged over time - occasionally I need to pull up on the fog vent area and push in under the headlight housing. The bumper is not at risk of falling off. - CVT transmission was replaced 11/2022 for free due to dealer fault during a valve body replacement. The 'new' CVT was refurbished with 125k miles and has a 1 year warranty ending 11/2023. Thanks to Safford Brown Manassas Subaru for this one. Notable Maintenance Items: ToDo The reason for selling is I mostly feel obligated to commute in it since I have a more comfortable truck with all the bells and whistles. I'd rather put the cash in a savings account, find a fun project car to play around in, or do some house projects. It spites me to move on from it due to all of the maintenance and improvement costs/time invested and I had every intention of going 200k miles plus, but that's the name of the auto game lol This would make a great commuter or starter car for a kiddo. I have the stock suspension parts to go along with the car. I'd consider lowering the price if I return to stock and keep the winter tires.
