  1. plugged into a battery maintainer today... had not looked at positive terminal since September - that #%$# thing was totally covered with corrosion even with anti corrosion felt pad and dielectric grease on post! what the h--- is wrong with subaru's charging system?
  2. yeah - spent over a half hour cleaning the + connector it was so bad after 5 minutes of wire brushing it; i got dremel out with sanding drum and took that to it! then coated it good with dielectric grease before connecting to optima
  3. switched from those crap OE goodyear's to bfg g-force comp 2 a/s plus one size up [235s] wow what a difference - 1st monsoon rain I was in [wipers on high could barely keep eyesight working] on interstate at 75mph ... I could feel them grabbing thru the 1"+ of water on road
  4. thanks! Got a OB2 power saver ... then after plugging it in... forgot to connect it to my jumpstarter so did end up having to do pwr window reprogram.. wasnt hard; but also found dealership was one resetting my seat presets every visit by doing their battery check! The service mgr still claims nothing is reset by disconnecting the battery! the good news is that I got to reprogram my ECU-CVT behavior and now as long as its warm;now it actually goes when I floor it making a turn from a stop sign:icon_mrgr so far I am much happier with a red top optima than the crap factory batteries my car was eating
  5. do keyless entry [push button] models need a ob2 settings 'saver' plugged in to keep settings before battery is disconnected??
  6. I know mine a '17 HK unit organized the playlist by the order it read them on the USB stick... Which was close to the order I loaded them into the stick, not by alpha numeric folder structure... Is super irritating and some folders, it has reorganized the songs in it alphabetically even though they are numbered 1-10 for order!
  7. Surmiser/anyone - any idea if the specs from the WRX new wheels & tires I posted would work without mods?
  8. looks like its ready for a rally cross heat .... or should be in the now cancelled tv show Defiance!
  9. 2nd oil change completed few weeks back ... full synthetic both times; 1st time had the additive added on a coupon for 0 up charge. Include your cylinders(if not in your signature/profile): 4cyl 2.5i Odometer: 12,100 miles driven between: nearly 6,000 Quarts added: 0 driving style (easy, moderate, aggressive): Easy / mixed 90% ; spirited/ heavy acceleration 10% - usually merging, ramps, turns, passing the semi's that cant stay in own lane due to shitty road surface on interstates in Illinois Full engine operating temp (sometimes, usually, almost always): Almost Always
  10. Sadly, It appears that the Brembo calipers on the STI only come in that color; just like many factory ceramic options ... ie Porshe's yellow ones or Dodge's Red ones!
  11. any1 know if the new '18 black STI 19" wheels will fit our legacy's? with or without mod? http://d1arsn5g9mfrlq.cloudfront.net/sites/default/files/2018_subaru_wrx_sti-wheel_720.jpg 2018+ STI wheels: Bolt pattern: 5x114.3 Centerbore: 56.1mm Wheel size: 19 x 8.5" Offset: +55mm Tire: 245/35R19
  12. Andrew: If you look at the spec sheets for both tires I listed they are both a little narrower & the diameter is smaller on OE size than the GY LS2's [Revs per mile stats show how this will add up & mess with both speedo, mpg, & wear]
