  1. Was Son's car and now it is replaced by a certain small German hatchback.... Kind of a saga - and will probably like to sell and get what it is worth, but also detail what the issues are to the buyer - ether sell to a mechanic or a Subaru turbo fan that knows what they are getting. But I would like to take oen last shot at getting to run properly. Basically - after an engine ( & turbo) rebuild (blew 300 miles after purchase) - the map gets dettuned/corrupted due to knock sensor. You can not hear or feel any knock. For example - reset the computer ( like a battery pull) - and it runs great. After about 6 - 10 miles, it almost wants to stall, then that is OK, but starts to surge (like fuel restriction) around 2 to 4K. Is there a way to bypass the knock sensor - and is there a risk short or long term to that as long as you know it is disconnected? ( For example - would you always hear the knock if you know to listen for it?) I am thinking that a true tuner shop that knows these cars should be able to find the issue - and I am actually willing to pay a little for the diagnostic - but a full dyno run is too much. ( IDNK if that is needed) - the three local tuners, none called me back. Also - then in this Forum, is The Marketplace ( M2M) the only place to list here?
