  1. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the downside of an import is the lack of official information such as a service manual or code translation. This is exactly the problem the UK Subaru dealer faced and Subaru UK were unable/unwilling to help interpret the fault codes. Just the downside to running one of these cars but very frustrating when the solution may be much simpler and cheaper than it appears.
  2. If anyone can explain the following I will be forever grateful. After numerous problems with the CVT box and, only because I love this car so much, I had a used 'box fitted by my local Subaru dealer. All seemed good for about 70 miles. Until, I parked at home. That involves a short unmade road, turning the car, then reversing about 25 yards. As I used the electronic brake then moved into PARK the vehicle dynamics, elec PKG brake and, abs lights all came on. I then drove it to the dealer who retrieved one fault - Transmission Control Module. Whilst driving, other than the lights, all is normal. Disconnected the battery for an hour, and then repeat performance today. No lights, normal performance until that last manoeuvre at home. If anyone has stayed with me until now thanks! Any and all suggestions welcome.
  3. Looks like the CVT gearbox in my 2012 JDM Legacy DIT is shot. Code TR6590GBDCA, FA20E SZHDA. Replacements are rare and expensive. There is a 'box in the UK from a 2014 WRX S4, code TR690GB9CA, FA20. The ratios are identical. I've tried asking Subaru technical for some help with no success. Would the WRX 'box fit? It's easily 4 figures plus the cost of swapping the boxes so I really need to be sure. Any help appreciated.
  4. Can anyone help with interpreting the fault codes on my 2012JDM Legacy 2.0 DIT? They've had it a week and have come to a dead end. Their data relates to UK models and Subaru technical UK are unable to help or to get further info from Japan. Without this info, it's either scrap the car or spend thousands on a recon box.
  5. After trawling various Legacy/Outback sites, came across a few methods of resetting the CVT. Went through one of the sequences today and things looking ok after a 30min drive. Could it be that easy?
  6. Thanks, I've checked but it looks like that deal was only for Subaru US. Booked it in next week in the hope that there diagnostic equipment can isolate the problem.
  7. Dear All, Help really needed as I'm close to imploding. V. brief story so far - 2012 2.0 DIT Wagon with 99k on the clock and CVT 'box - jerky gearchange at lower speeds. Gearbox oil change, no improvement but after long journey dash lights up with multiple warnings including flashing gearbox oil temp. 2nd 'box oil change plus internal filter and, because excessive wear on part, (piston complete clutch transfer bearing) replaced. Long drive, smooth 'box, all seems good. Day later, brief drive - all warning lights on but otherwise drives fine. Options? Work so far done by non-Subaru but trusted garage. Considering swallowing dealer charges in hope that they can diagnose - any and all advice welcome.
  8. Many thanks, if needed I can hopefully get them via Subaru UK rather than Japan.
  9. Help/clarification needed for the following - on a 2012 2.0 DIT with the twinscroll FA20 engine, one fuel injector has failed. It refuses to budge at the moment. Using the VIN and Partsouq, the fuel intake diagram shows the injector passing through what looks like a sleeve then finally a seal od some sort. But, neither of those parts are given a part number, just an asterisk. I have obtained a new complete injector via Subaru UK at great cost but fear that when we extract the old one the sleeve will probably be knackered as well. Just to add to the mix, parts diagrams from other online sources with the same details and date of manufacture do not show the sleeve or the seal at all! Any help appreciated.
  10. Hi all, if it helps the part number for the LED running lights is/was H4517AJ010. They came fiited as part of the " Base Kit" on the DIT model along with rain visors, a leather key cover, side skirts and colour-coded number plate surrounds. Also shown in the accessory brochure on the display Wagon are the front bumper skirts and the mesh grille. I got these, at some expense, direct from Japanparts.com.
  11. Thanks again, I've had a look behind the trim and, though cramped, it all looks accessible.
  12. Hi all, I have a new Vacuum Booster as my current one is faulty on my 2012 Legacy. It looks like it bolts through the toe board. Can you access it from under the dash without having to remove the entire dashboard?
  13. Thanks. Managed to find a new one from Subaru UK. They have halved the price to £170 so - result!
  14. Can anyone help with confirming fitment? My Tokico booster has a label marked 27K G215T EE. The booster needs replacing and a new one is a ridiculous cost. Used boosters for the 2012 year all show G215T but with different numbers and letters before and after. I've trawled the internet looking for clarification to no avail. All advice appreciated.
