  1. Well, I’m stumped I’ve tried a few DVDs that I burned and a set from a member on here. And nothing. It still sits at the “Please insert DVD” prompt. I tried resetting the unit and still got the same result. Not sure what’s wrong but at this point I’m going to guess I got a bum unit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Just wondering if anyone has a working copy of the DVD they’d be willing to send me? I’ve tried burning multiple DVDs and still nothing. I’d be willing to pay for it and the shipping. The only thought I have in my mind is I wonder if the problem isn’t the DVD I made but a problem with the DVD drive the nav unit uses. But no real way to know for sure. Please pm me if you’re able to help. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. So I got a Nav unit from a friend and installed it in my Legacy 2.5i. Using the images for v8 and v12 of the maps I created DVDs with ImgBurn and DVD+R DL discs. But I am still getting the No DVD Please insert map DVD message on the screen. Any ideas or clues? Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. 2011 Subaru Legacy 180k km 2.5i CVT Recently I’ve noticed when I start the vehicle the airbag light stays on and also beeps while driving. If I turn off the vehicle and then it back on the abs light goes off and no more beeping. I haven’t had a chance to pull codes or look into it, but curious if anyone else experienced this issue? 5. After 12 months of hearing a squeeling noise on startup I got the courage on Friday night to take it out and regrease the bendix. I also decided to go the extra mile and open it up to clean and regrease the pinion gears. Put it all back together and installed it back in the engine. It started up like brand new. If it starts squeeling again I will most likely just bite the bullet and purchase a reman one. For now it's back to sounding nice and quiet.
  6. Without highjacking this thread ... I was wondering what kind of cable you use to connect to your Legacy? I'd like to do some diagnostics on the engine and am wondering what kind of cable to buy. Possibly from ebay. Feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks
  7. Good to know. I'll have to see if the dealership here in my area has the updated configuration for the TCU/ECM.
  8. I haven't done the update, but have been wondering if I should or shouldn't? It is in my mind a risk
  9. Just did this on my brothers 2010 Legacy. Pretty straight forward with the instructions in the post. Took about 30 minutes and $2.50 for a pair of quick links from Home Depot.
  10. The previous owner had the CVT replaced under warranty. This is my first Subaru, and it feels fine so far. I've test driven other Subaru Legacys and this sounds the same as those ones. So I am going to have to assume it feels normal.
  11. The Legacy I have had it's CVT replaced at 51k miles. The replaced CVT now has 33k miles on it and so far feels fine.
  12. I would get whoever gives you the oil sample to also drain all the fluid out of the transmission. The reason I ask, is that even if Valvoline didn't put engine oil in the transmission they may have accidentally drained all or a good amount of fluid out accidentally. The tech at Valvoline may have drained the tranny fluid by accident thinking it was the engine fluid. But just a thought ... not pointing fingers at anyone in any way.
  13. Send the fluid that is in the tranny case to get tested. If it's engine oil then Valvoline owes you a tranny.
