  1. Apparently, many folks have had that same problem. I suspect the culprit may not be an owner making the error, but the dealer or the factory. The torsion bars I had eventually failed just like you describe after about 4 years. Once I installed a new set of torsion rods, it made all the difference. Once you have them properly installed, you should be G2G.
  2. This is our 4th Subaru. Currently own two - one 07 Spec B and one 08 LLB OBW. Today I received a nice little LL Bean Subaru Tote bag as a loyalty gift. What a nice surprise. Thanks Subaru!!
  3. We just picked up an 08 Outback LLB 3.0. It's a lot of fun, but it doesn't have the get up and gone as the 07 Spec. B. Love 'em both for different reasons.
  4. We just picked up an 08 Outback wagon. The DRLs on it are the high beams. The low beams are off until you turn them on - a change from the 05-07 model years. I wonder if this is SOA's attempt to reduce the rapid bulb burnout factor people experienced for the 05-07 models.
  5. Has anyone tried putting the sound deadening material under the hood to see (1) whether this makes a substantial change in dB level and (2) whether the additional insulation would adversely affect the heat level under the hood?
  6. Kind of off topice, but not entirely.... Has anyone thought of what mods would give rise to a legit claim to an "STI" badged USDM Legacy?

  8. Looks like cyclewrks found another way to skin a cat. It depends what you are looking for - I put a switch in the brown wire so that when the switch is closed, the car works like factory. When the switch is open, the headlights from the DRL are disabled, but the other DRL functions still work (parking lights front and rear).
  9. No problem. I'm heading out of town this weekend, but I'll post a couple of pics when I return. Wasn't sure whether there was any interest.
  10. Instead of cutting the infamous brown wire and leaving it off, I installed a simple black rocker switch inside the covered panel for the fuse box. I like having the DRLs - but sometimes, I need to go through a security checkpoint where I have to turn the lights off as to not blind the sentry. Up until now, I had to pull up the parking brake in order to kill the DRLs. Hooray for the switch.
