  1. I want to recommend Flat 4 Freak in Berthoud, CO. Did a smoke test, fixed leaks, replaced PS lines, and replaced my rear brakes. Price wasn't bad, turn-around time was good and they weren't booked out for a month (like some of the more popular subie shops in CO) . Paul (owner) took me to the back and showed me where all my problem areas were. When they did my brakes, they bedded them in properly ( even subie dealers neglect to do this sometimes) They do everything all the way to full rebuilds and have started posting some time-lapse engine build videos online I've had a lot of mechanics in the Fort Collins/Greeley/Loveland area work on my car (duh...Subaru) and Flat 4 Freak has been the best overall experience so far
  2. I've got about 6 other keys hanging off of mine... so I will get a quick-disconnect attachment to avoid causing any L-T damage
  3. This is great news!!! Can't wait to get a tune as soon as I get my high trims issue fixed
  4. My mechanic friend saw that I have quite the set of keys on my key ring and mentioned that the weight of all of those keys hanging off of the ignition can actually cause damage to the system over time…has anyone ever heard of this?
  5. Probably a dumb question but...does this defect happen when the passenger airbag deploys in a crash? Or does it deploy randomly?
  6. Just called my local dealer and the parts are on back-order for a month. Apparently Subaru had them all shipped to the east coast/SE as the corrosion rate is faster down there, possibly causing the issue to happen faster. This is nuts…
  7. i got mine from dashmat.com. it was cheaper than the rest at around 30 bucks (find the one you like on their site, buy it cheaper from amazon lol) the fitment is good, the key is to buy more velcro than they send you and take your time had it for a couple months now, so far so good
  8. i finally lost my patience and got a dash cover. not the prettiest, but so far so good and no more sticky dash catching tons of dust and dog hair
  9. even putting up/taking down my sun visor leaves huge streaks across my sticky dash now i can't take it anymore, i am going to buy a dash cover. most of them look hideous...but at least i have a black interior. anybody got any ideas on the least noticeable material?
  10. As soon as my car is parked out in the heat for a while it gets sticky again. I beleive my next step is to try and find a dash cover that doesnt look hideous...
  11. reviving this dead thread as i now have the sticky dash issue as well. some detailing gurus suggested i use an all-purpose cleaner diluted 10:1 with a soft bristle brush and wipe off with a microfiber cloth. didnt do shit, i still have a sticky dash. goo-gone also did nothing. i use a sun visor now but its too late... ...please tell me i dont have to get my dash wrapped
  12. ...damnit. thank you for the wisdom though, guess its time to decide whether or not i want to roll the dice on my current turbo!
  13. Is the failure rate on a vf46 any less than a vf40? see less vf46's failing on here but that could be due to the fact that they are on younger LGT's (lower miles). Any thoughts? im running the stock vf46 in my 08 w/54k miles and plan on removing banjo bolts / replacing oil pickup and going stage 2. REALLY dont want to replace the turbo if all seems well (will check for shaft play when DP is replaced for stage 2)...but also willing to do anything it takes to keep from destroying my engine in the future
  14. sorry if this has already been answered but would you recommend the bullet proof TMIC for a daily driven 5EAT Stage 2? will NOT be doing any motorsport of any form, just the occasional street pull
