  1. brother didnt get an appraisal so from what i heard they will go by the "book value" but since there is no direct equivalent (no USDM GT-B, and no USDM wagons with the same engine) i am not sure how they would determine the value. he was not at fault so its kind of a buzz kill that he might be losing out a bit on this.
  2. were in ontario canada, looking into the replacement thing aswell as the possibility of having insurance repair it.
  3. It was definitely insured as an RHD import (insurance was aware that it was RHD and it had a non standard VIN).
  4. I am doing some research on behalf of my brother. He was out driving his 1999 BH5 (RHD) today and he got hit by a car which was turning left (he was not at fault) and the car is effectively a write off. The blueblook value for the LHD USDM variant is a lot less than what he paid for his JDM import and its a lot less than it would cost to replace it with another JDM RHD variant. Since my brother is not at fault, is there any way to get a respectable amount back? Is there anything additional we can sue for? Neither of us have ever been in an accident before so we are unsure of what todo. We are situated in Canada btw.
