  1. Tried the 4 gig SD card with the adapter but the radio couldn't read it. Yes, it was formatted FAT32. Amazon, here I come!!!
  2. My '17 Outback Premium has a FB856US Nav radio. I have tried to check the software version but holding the Vol control in while pushing the Tun button 5 times only brings up my personal wallpaper (pic of my dog). I'm sure there's a trick to it that I haven't found but could somebody answer a few questions about getting that info? 1) what position should the ignition key be in? 2) car running or not? 3) radio playing or not? My radio will not turn off; I just mute it. I've tried pushing in the Vol control but even after a minute it is still on. 4) can I use an 4 gig SD card with a USB adapter? All my USB drives are 16 gigs or larger. Thanks! Bill
  3. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10130285-9999.pdf This site defines which radios were available on various models from 2014 to 2018. It is very detailed and even includes diagnostic info for apps on each radio. If you're thinking about swapping an OEM radio for another OEM radio then this site has all the info you need. PS- I swapped the OEM radio in my 2017 Premium for an OEM radio with Nav successfully. All I needed was the correct radio and a GPS antenna. And, YES, the turn info (direction and street name) does show up on the dash without any additional programing or hardware.
