  1. It's not far from Victor Harbor near Inman Valley around an hour South of Adelaide. The road turns into dirt shortly after the climb (there's almost no way you'd get up it in a normal car if it was dirt/wet) so it's a pretty quiet road normally. Great for early morning photos
  2. It's Mount Alma in South Australia. There's a hillclimb that has run on this section of road for the last 11 years. It's a seriously steep section of road with gradients between 17% and 24%!!!!
  3. I've had a couple of cars since the Liberty... 2016 Scirocco R and current is 2018 VW Tiguan Sportline. http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/images/imported/2017/10/8a9c8fac736905f892ed73126af72b36-1.jpg Tiguan is stage 3 with a upgraded turbo, exhaust, intercooler and will run a low 4's 0-100 (probably could go faster but they've limited torque in 1st gear for mechanical sympathy). As you can see nothing has changed as I'm still modding
  4. It's a reasonable difference and quite noticeable. Car is more urgent and definitely gets going quicker. It's been a while since I sold the car now but I'd recommend it to anyone looking for better performance.
  5. Still got a couple of bits for sale (exhaust system and front brake rotors). See for sale post here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/fs-australia-gen6-2-5i-headers-exaust-3-6r-brake-261727.html?t=261727
  6. Both you guys looking at aggressive wheel fitments you just need to read back a couple of posts: The specs that both of you are looking at have more poke than this: And these needed guards rolling on the rear to stop scrubbing
  7. Check out willtheyfit compare to stock 18's: 18x9's: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=225&aspect=50&diameter=18&wheelwidth=7.5&offset=55&width2=225&aspect2=40&wheel_size=18&wheel_width=9&offset2=30 18x10's: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=225&aspect=50&diameter=18&wheelwidth=7.5&offset=55&width2=225&aspect2=40&wheel_size=18&wheel_width=10&offset2=25 Tire size is too low profile so the speedo is out (general recommendation is to keep within 2% and these are 7%). Offset is way too aggressive (especially on the 18x10) and you will likely have rubbing issues on the front as well as guaranteed rubbing on the rear.
  8. First I'll say these are a great looking rim with a ton of dish. However just because it has the correct bolt pattern does not mean a wheel is going to fit. These wheels come in 20x9 with either ET15, ET25 or ET35 offset. Even a +35 offset is going to have the outside face of the rim poking by an additional 39.1mm compared to stock: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=225&aspect=50&diameter=18&wheelwidth=7.5&offset=55&width2=245&aspect2=35&wheel_size=20&wheel_width=9&offset2=35 This has been attempted before and does cause some rubbing which will require guard rolling to correct. This will be more so if you decide to lower the car and or carry passengers/luggage in the rear. I'm not trying to put you off from doing it as these offset wheels do look great but almost always require modification to the guards so you don't damage your tires.
  9. Unfortunately no new Legacy I did consider the Levorg and WRX but the wife was dead against a Levorg wagon and the WRX interior was a big step down from the Legacy with no Eyesight/adaptive cruise option either. Correct. It's a totally different car and driving experience. Decided that we didn't need 2 family cars and we could live with one impractical/fun car and one family SUV. The Scirocco handles like on rails from stock and goes like a cut snake with a tune (is a quick car even stock). I'm not on here much these days - probably only until I sell the last few parts. I did enjoy my Legacy (Liberty) while I had it. I always wanted a gen4 but never got one so now I can tick the Legacy off my bucket list of cars to own
  10. Nice idea - hopefully you can get a new group of people to participate in this one as it's a fun thing to do and gets everyone out taking photos of their car. I'm out unless I can find someone else's car parked up
  11. Yes I also looked at WRX/Levorg as options, however for me if I was going to go for a less practical car I figured I may as well go the whole way Also the interior of the VW is so much nicer place to sit than a base model WRX which is what was in my budget and the WRX still doesn't come with eyesight and has the CVT as auto option. I think the new WRX when it is released late this year will probably fix a number of these issues, however it would have meant waiting for another 9-12 months and by that time my Liberty would have been out of warranty and over 100,000km on the odometer which would make it a lot less desirable as a trade-in or selling privately. WRX premium is better but still a step down in terms of interior trims/hard plastic surfaces compared to the Liberty/Legacy but also added $5k to the price. Levorg was vetoed by my wife as she has a particular aversion to station wagons.
  12. Thanks. Here's the comparison dyno charts between the Scirocco with stage 1 tune and Liberty 2.5 with headers and tune. Green = Scirocco R Blue = Subaru Liberty 2.5i http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=248881&stc=1&d=1494251581 I don't think you can compare the 2 cars. Scirocco has 2 x more power and weighs less so goes like a rocket. I haven't had the chance to take it up into the hills yet, however it pretty much sticks like glue to the road due to low ride height and wide track. The main problem is maintaining traction as it's FWD so quite easy to spin wheels in 1st, 2nd and 3r gears.
  13. Car got sold tonight. New owner will be picking it up later in the week. It's been fun, frustrating at times and met a bunch of new people both on-line and off who I now call my friends. Thanks for sharing the journey and who knows our paths may cross again in Gen7 or maybe Gen 8
  14. Selling my exhaust if anyone on here is interested. Custome headers with high flow 200cel cat, 2 1/2" mid pipe and y-pipe to suit a dual exit set-up. Due to shipping costs it's probably only suited to someone in Aus, but happy to get freight prices. PM me if you're interested. Parts are also listed in the for sale section.
  15. Well I caught up with Matt/TH today for a (final) retune. He also programmed the I/S/S# mode functionality in so now my car has 3 distinct driving modes. The retune is good - slight bit more punch as it holds the torque a little better. Also the S# really has got quite a sharp take-off. Not something that you want to be using too much in stop/start traffic but on a hills runs it would come into its own. Also talked to Matt about the US option for multiple maps/drive modes and he indicated it was possible and something that he's looking to include in the next batch of files going out. So watch this space....
