  1. this aint the pm box! doh
  2. Jazzy - Just placed an order for a pro kit for my 05 legacy. Stoked. Can you let me know the ETA of the item shipping? I'm sort of on a truncated timetable, moving across the country in 3 weeks. Thanks!
  3. I'm wondering if anyone here in the Philadelphia area has experience installing these, i'd like to pick one up but i dont trust myself doing the install. beer or a little cash would be provided! shoot me a PM if interested in helping out :] Thanks!
  4. Thats cool, i'll probably skip the aux. I have no plans to use the CD player or the SAT - Just my iPhone. So i'd be good with the kit.
  5. Well, as it turns out there are no 07 Spec B HU's in the entire country according to my parts guy. He even called the manufacturer, and said the only way they can ship one out is if we can send a blown one that needs replacing. I guess I'm outta luck unless I can find a wreck.
  6. Cool. Just got off the phone with my dad who works at a subaru dealership, his parts guy says the headunit is one peice Panel + radio. it's $590 retail, and $440 cost, which is what I can get it for. I'm going to order that, along with the ipod integration kit and hopefully should be good to go.
  7. Thats what i thought too, but reading through the thread I get conflicting reports, and i'm not sure which exactly is needed.
  8. Awesome. And there wouldnt be any reason my dealership couldn't install both, correct? Also - still unsure which part to tell the dealership to order for the HU, the first post says there are 2 parts, but doesn't clarify if both are actually needed. There's a panel assy, and a radio up which = $950, do i need both?
  9. I guess that is part of my confusion, as the kit and the aux are not one in the same, they are different options, i thought the integration kit utilized an aux input. So if i went for the kit, how does it work? Is it an FM transmitter? FM Modulator? And also, why doesn't the integration kit work with the stock 05 head unit? I guess i'm missing some information here. Also, as far as the 2007 HU - do i need BOTH parts listed in the first page of the thread? (~$950) or just one of them?
  10. I would have them install the Head Unit, then I would do the iPod kit. I'm still confused as to what exact parts i'll need and what it'll look like when its done. I assume the aux-in will just be hanging somewhere unless I get fancy and try to wire it somewhere in the car?
  11. Also this part still confuses me Do i need both parts? or just one?
  12. Awesome, I don't care about XM Is there soldering involved? I can get my subaru dealership to install the head unit, and possibly the integration kit as well since its subaru, but if there is soldering involved with getting the kit to work i'm not sure if they'll do it. Also will it charge 2nd gen iPhones? On the part site for the kit it says it wont work, but then i've seen people that say it will.
  13. I've been reading over all these iPod integration ideas for a month and i'm lost. If i were to purchase the 2007 Spec B HU - what would be the simplest method after that for getting iPhone integration (assuming money isn't an issue) Just want the absolute simplest way once the 07 Spec B HU is installed. Don't care about steering wheel controls. (hoping to avoid having to solder anything?) I currently have an 05 legacy GT (climate control, etc) Thanks in advance.
  14. Thanks dave, i talked to my pops and the parts guys at the subie dealership and they are going to try to get me an 07' HU on the cheap ~$200 - that seems like the cleanest way to do it to me. The cleansweep option is nice, but a bit too pricy for my liking.
