  1. It's July and I just bought winter tires. Discount Tire has iPikes dirt cheap (0.3" taller, but skinnier for better snow traction). http://www.ebay.com/itm/191925858421 - three sets left.
  2. Wheels: 2011 Subaru WRX STi Base Wheels Size: 18x8.5 Offset: +55 Tires: General Altimax RT43 (All Season) 245/45-18
  3. Legacies are a very minor segment to my full list: Car 01 - 1987 Subaru GL Wagon Car 02 - 1990 Subaru Legacy L AWD Car 03 - 1990 Mazda MX6 GT Car 04 - 1996 Ford Contour GL V6 Car 05 - 1992 Nissan 240sx Hatchback Car 06 - 2000 Subaru Impreza RS Car 07 - 1995 Audi 90 Quattro Car 08 - 1994 Subaru SVX LSi Car 09 - 1997 Audi A4 18T TAP STGII Car 10 - 1999 Subaru Impreza RS Car 11 - 1998 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport Car 12 - 1998 Subaru Legacy GT FAT STGII Car 13 - 1999 Subaru Impreza RS Car 14 - 2000 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Car 15 - 1996 Subaru Impreza Outback Car 16 - 2000 Subaru Legacy GT (88) Car 17 - 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon Car 18 - 2004 Subaru Forester XT Car 19 - 2002 Subaru Impreza TS Car 20 - 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Car 21 - 2008 Nissan Altima 25 SL Car 22 - 2011 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport Car 23 - 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX Hatchback Car 24 - 2011 Subaru Outback 3.6R Car 25 - 2015 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited I like the 2015 for a few reasons. It's (IMO) the best looking model that Subaru has made to date. It doesn't feel like a Subaru - going over bumps, you barely feel it even with 18" wheels. The Harman Kardon sound system for 2015+ is the best audio system to date. I dislike that it still feels cheap, like an Impreza. The paint is still paper thin and super sensitive. The CVT takes away a lot from the 2.5L, but it makes up for it in MPGs. I was getting 32mpg for the first 2k I've owned it, but has risen to 34-36mpg recently.
  4. I adapted more easily since I got older with each one. I was 23 or so when I had the 98 LGT turbo. Now I'm 36 with the 2015, married, and have two kids. So they all drove the way they were supposed to drive for how old I was The 2015 feels a little bigger than past designs, and not as easy to throw around. But with some light mods, it'll be easier to do that. I've got an STi 20mm rear sway bar on it now, and putting on the 18x8.5 STi wheels this weekend with 245 wide tires. Should make it a little more grippy in the corners.
  5. The last time Fitchburg was mentioned in this thread was 2010. Time for a bump for Fitchburg! I'm on my sixth Legacy. 1) 1990 Legacy L 2) 1998 Legacy GT w/turbo kit 3) 2000 Legacy GT #1 4) 2000 Legacy GT #2 5) 2005 Legacy GT sedan 6) 2015 Legacy 2.5i Limited (current)
  6. I think you've convinced me, Andrew. I picked up said wheels yesterday for $580 - the color is perfect for the Lapis blue. After seeing how wide the wheels are, I'm going to sell the new 225/50-18 RT43s and wait for a good deal on 245/45-18s to do it right. I think the lip will be too prone to curbage without the wider tire.
  7. Thanks Andrew. I went a different route and decided to go conservative staying with stock tire size (ordered new General Altimax RT43) and just came across a set of silver STi 18x8.5 wheels I've been hunting for on Craigslist for the 225/50-18 tires. If all goes well, I'll have them tomorrow.
  8. I know this is a wheel thread (there are a lot of experts in here) - but has anyone run 245/45-18 tires on stock 18x7.5 wheels?
  9. I had these on 17s a few years ago. While they were fine on dry, I didn't like them in the snow. Light snow cornering was sketchy.
  10. Anyone have good recommendations on an all-season 245/45-18 tire? I like the looks of the Falken Pro G4, but there aren't a lot of reviews for snow traction yet. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/tires/falken/product/submitProductSize.do;?pc=10024&tmn=Pro+G4+A%2FS&typ=Passenger%2FPerformance
  11. Don't get your hopes up. Check for Facebook Subaru groups in your area as well as Nasioc classified. They're out there. I know of one set in NH for $700 at the moment, but I'm holding out for STis.
  12. Sounds too good to be true! I've always been a fan of other model OEM wheels. I'm holding out for some 2011 STi wheels
