  1. They've been screwing with it so much recently. I canceled my Plus subscription recently because I was sick of it cutting out in the middle of a song, desyncing, and just randomly not working. One thing I found that served as a workaround was selecting Bluetooth Audio as the source over the Pandora app itself. Not only does using the Bluetooth as a source work (oft times *better* than the app), it also enables you to rewind using the left arrow on your steering wheel. Other than that, a lot hardware issues come down to the fact that Subaru evidently only tests Apple and Samsung devices with their cars' infotainment.
  2. For those of us bummed about the lack of compatibility for the 2018 head unit, there might be a Hail Mary workaround:
  3. Well, the reply I got back concerning the "could you please forward this message to whomever programs the head units" was: "I will document your feedback and pass it along to our product management team for further review. Past input from our customers has been helpful in initiating changes to our newer models. The most valued opinion of any business is that of its customers. Your comments are valuable to us in that they provide us with a clear picture of our products as seen by our owners." I guess time will tell. vOv
  4. Well, I've some bad news for all of us hoping to upgrade our head units to the 2018's: Dear Mr. XXXXXXX: Thank you for contacting Subaru of America, Inc. Unfortunately, the new head units are not able to be retro-fitted into previous models. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again. Sincerely, Amber Anglin Subaru of America, Inc. Customer/Retailer Services Department 1-800-SUBARU3 (1-800-782-2783) Service Request Number: XXXXXXXXXXX ----- I just sent a reply asking if she could post an inquiry to whichever department writes the code if the new head unit's software could be loaded onto the older head units, and suggested that if Subaru could find a way to retroactively add CarPlay/Android Auto functionality to cars that didn't come with it natively, that it'd be a hell of a press coup for Subaru.
  5. Blending elements of 2015 and 2018, when people ask what you drive, you can say it's a 2016.5 Legacy.
  6. I hold out hope that the larger screen is more diagonal than vertical - the dimensions look the same, and I'd love to get Android Auto in my car without having to lose functionality by going with an aftermarket unit with an ugly adapter. It's definitely not the same 8" screen as is on the Impreza - that one's closer to 4:3 dimensions. I shudder to think how much they'll charge for the new units if they *are* able to be mounted in the older models. We're also potentially discounting potential incompatibilities with regards to pin-outs/plugs.
  7. I had this updated at my dealership yesterday. At first they had no clue there'd been an update. 90 minutes later I'm ready to go with no charge. I do notice an improvement in Bluetooth connection speed and usability. That being said, now I don't know how to delete my SXM presets on my radio.
  8. So does anyone have a good steer towards door edge guards/bumpers? I find myself being exceptionally careful in parking lots, since the Legacy's got a much larger and heavier door than my Accord did, and I just know if I swing it too quickly I'll be doing more than dinging someone else's door.
