  1. I was able to swap ECU and relearn keys to ECU and BIU on 05 Legacy GT with a ~$50 programmer I bought years ago. I didn't have to program the "VIN" to the ECU. I use the SBB PRO2 V48.99 . They appear to be about $100 now. I have used it on STIs and other cars like Honda too.
  2. I did this swap on a 2005 LGT Wagon. I kept the twin scroll turbo up setup. I did not wire up the extra AVCS. My tune is not great and needs more work. In CA the biggest issue it smog. They are starting to check the tunes. I will probably have to put a stock tune back on the car for SMOG and it will throw a code that I need to revert more back to stock. Due to smog, I wouldn't have done it. If the smog was not an issue, with a proper tune, it works fine.
  3. I have done some JDM ECU swaps back and forth and been able to join keys to the ECUs no problem. Also change BIUs. I haven't tried much newer than 2009.
  4. I bought a SBB Pro and was able to program my own keys for my Subarus and Hondas. it was like $60 at the time. They are a bit more expensive now but still not too bad. If you have to buy a new immobilizer or change a ECU, it will allow me to re-join the keys to the car. Worth the $60.
  5. I'm still here and rocking my 08 SpecB. Not too involved in forums and other things due to other priorities. Not enough hours in the day.
  6. From what I understand they can only be registered. Cloning would require a different type of key that would only work with a specific cloning machine. I was able to re-register key for 08 STI using a "sbb pro2 48.88 48.99 SBB V48.88 Key Programmer Automotive Scanner Multi-Language SBB ECU Programmer Tool Replace SBB 46.02 33.LL" I got off AliExpress for around $70. They say they support cars up to 2017.

  9. Check cooling lines a hoses in the bottom front. Transmission filter under the driver side fender front. Front belt tensioner. Front belt idler. Fuel Filter and sock in fuel tank. Any issues with misfires check crank sensor on rear flywheel. Front O2 sensors on each side of each header bank. Rear 02 after cat sensor.
  10. I have the fender for a 04 Legacy GT Wagon in the box new NOT painted. $40 + shipping and it yours.
  11. I put a EJ20 in a 04 35th Anni. Since that car is DBW the ECU can be reprogrammed for the 2.0 Liter engine. Only issue was the single port header converted to the dual port. I can sent you the open source tune for the EJ20 for that car if you wanted to do this. https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/ecuflash-2004-3rd-gen-dbw-wagon-136684.html?t=136684
  12. I did not see this anywhere on the site so here they are This was for an 08 Legacy GT. They appear to be the same for other years and even Subaru Models and markets. USDM 28055AA003 Hub Bolt (the stud for the wheel) 28171AG000 Wheel Bolt (OEM lugs nuts)
