  1. Trying to get to the bottom of my most recent subaru fueled headache. 08 specB built motor, just installed id1000s, upgrading from DW850s. Got a map sent from my tuner so I could get to the shop. Was all good until the car threw P0021 AVCS code. removed the solenoid to find it had broken in two, or rather the crimp had failed and the shaft was spinning freely. Got a replacement and installed it. Fired the car up and seemed to run like crap. Figured it was maybe the ecu relearn. But AFR went full lean on my wideband and threw P0340 cam code. Checked connections and pulled timing cover to check it out. Driver side exhaust cam gear looks to be slightly out. Now have Cyl 2 and 4 misfire. Wondering if oil got on the coils driver side causing misfire or I knocked something loose when pulling my inter cooler piping to get to the solenoid. Trying to upload image of cam gears from my phone
  2. Will post more detailed account but the gist is that I installed id1000s, then threw p0021 code, replaced AVCS solenoid, then threw P0340 cam code, and have cyl 2 and 4 misfire now. Driver exhaust cam gear appears to be off slightly but I’m not too sure.
  3. forgive me if it's been discussed, but I picked up an RX FMIC and haven't tried to install it (currently building motor) but a quick mock up with the core seems like it's gonna be tight between the bumper beam. Do you install it from the bottom or kind of rotate it through the top?
