  1. I recently picked up a 2005 legacy wagon, non turbo with a 5spd. I got it for a pretty good price because I was told that it just needed a clutch, which I replaced (noting that the old clutch didn't look all that bad surprisingly). I've got everything back together now, and i'm just testing it while it's off the ground by putting it in gear and all wheels spin well except for the front left which jutters and moves a small step at a time. I thought initially that it was the axles, because the front left wouldn't go in all the way, but I've since replaced them and the problem still persists. I'm wondering if this is a symptom of a front differential problem or possibly the entire transmission (though I did drive it home so I can't imagine that it's all that messed up). Thoughts?
  2. Looking to replace my old worn down shift boot, anyone know what other subaru boots will fit onto a 2000 legacy with a 5spd? Or any vendors that sell boots for legacies?
  3. Hey folks, I'm looking to get another set of wheels so that I can have a summer tire and an all season ready to go. Using craigslist, I'm able to find a lot of the subaru 5x100mm 16x7 wheels, but they're typically off a forester. The offset difference is around 7mm if I'm not mistaken (55+ on stock legacy wheels and 48+ on the stock forester wheels). Will these work on the legacy without any fitment problems?
  4. Just a sanity check, looking to get new rear axles on my 2000 Legacy GT sedan and rockauto lists different rear left and rear right axles, with different prices aswell. I'm pretty sure these are identical right? The fronts were identical and if they weren't I would think that the half shaft length would affect the power split So I just wanted to double check with you folks that they are indeed identical, before I order anything
  5. Hey folks, I've got a 2000 Subaru Legacy GT limited and the steering wheel has seen better days. I've thought about just grabbing a new one from the junkyard, but while I was thinking, I wondered if newer legacy steering wheels will fit on mine? Maybe not even legacies, does anyone know what model/year of subaru steering wheels will fit on a 2000 legacy? Thanks!
