  1. Assuming this would work for 09 OBXT . . . if so, please add me for serious consideration.
  2. Honestly I have no clue, I pulled the trim from my 09 OB and it was the same setup as had been described earlier in the thread. I did not want to cut the wire in case it was different so pulled it instead and fortunately was exactly as advertised. Just have a look at the harness, see if the blue/black wire is there (it was in the middle of the 3 central wires in the harness) and then decide if you want to take it out to see what will happen . . .
  3. Just did this in about 3 minutes while at work. Did it by moving seat as far back and tilted up as possible from the front driver's door. Found the right connector - white to white closest to the driver's door - fiddled with it a bit to work out how to unplug them and then simply unplugged them. Drove around in the parking lot, up to about 20mph and no chimes!!!! As I drive on my own a lot of the time I was only really interested in the driver's seat. Confirming this works for 09 OB! Did the DRL yesterday and this today - my 2 biggest bugbears gone! Now need to get a stage 1 tune done in the next few months . . .
  4. Spot on. In summary, if you have an 09 OB, pull the white harness, disconnect the blue/black wire only and then plug the harness back in, you will have disconnected the DRLs only. Full beams will function as normal (and have the symbol light up in the dash) as will cruise control. Thanks to all for help on this, happy to have saved my new HIR1s some unnecessary burn time.
  5. Got the f&cker out! I really made sure that the tab that runs across the opposite end to the wire ends was raised. Then a little forward pressure on the wire, pushed the small screwdriver between the silver bits and down towards the lower one and pulled the wire . . . out it came. Managed to tape it up but before I could plug the harness back in to test things, the wife nabbed the car and drove off. Am I right in thinking that once the harness is plugged back in without the blue/black wire, I should have the full beam symbol on the dash? Or do I need to do something else to get this back?
  6. Apparently it also affects cruise control - ever use it to state whether this is true? I want my high beam indicators on my dash so disconnecting the blue/black wire only and replugging the harness back in is supposed to allow this to happen. Need to know how to get the damn wire out though . . .
  7. If by plastic tab you mean the thing that runs the length of the harness, I already did this. Opening this clip allows the wires to be taken out, once you know how to take them out! To take them out, you need to use a small flathead screwdriver. Push the wire towards the end of the harness, insert screwdriver to depress small locking mechanism and slide wire out. But I don't know exactly where to press with the screwdriver and neither seem to be working at the moment!!!
  8. When you look at the end of the harness where all of the wires end, each wire has two silver bits in each housing, one in the middle and one in the bottom. This means there are 2 potential places to push with the screwdriver - one between plastic and metal, the other between 2 metal bits. Am I supposed to use the small screwdriver to push above the middle silver bit, or push in between the 2 silver bits? And do I push up, away from the silver bits or down towards the silver bits?
  9. Pulled the harness out, see the blue/black wire. How do I actually get the wire out of the harness? At the moment, the harness is still out - the car is still safe to drive, right?
  10. What's the deal with this for an 09 model comapred to the info in the OP? From scanning this thread it appears it may be a little different. Could someone walk through this for a noob with an 09 who is also a DRL hater . . . Thanks
  11. Ordered the Rallye's and HIR1s for the low and full beams, held off on foggies for now. Any suggestions what to do with original lights as the car is only 500 miles old??? Keep them for spares or do you think there would be interest in these hardly used OEM bulbs???
  12. I have an 09 OB XT and according to the Osram Sylvania Lamp Replacement guide, I have H7 low-beams and 9005 high-beams which according to OP I can switch straight out for the Rallye 65W and HIR1s. However, the guide also says that my fog/driving lights are 9006 which I think are not swappable with the H3 Gold's suggested in OP. Am I right in this? If so, what can I swap my fogs for and what would you guys recommend? I want to place my order ASAP so advice would be greatly appreciated.
