  1. Further to KZJonny's point, I had a creak/squeak only going over bumps. I lubed the front sway bar bushings and it reduced the sound, but not eliminated. Lubed the rears and all is quiet now. Might be worth the hour or two of work to check the rears too.
  2. Just for reference, first time I had it tuned, I was at -12. Second time it read -14. Pretty damn strong.

  4. Yeah I did the same thing last year. Got a good bump in vacuum but stumble still there. Gotta look somewhere else. I'm fairly certain it is FPR related now.
  5. Sorry for the delay in reply, been really busy at work. So I had the rear brake line replaced, the "junction" box, a portion of the front brake line repaired, new fuel tank, filler tube and sending unit replaced. Sending unit was aftermarket - about $600 Cdn instead over $1000 for OEM. Associated gaskets/fluids etc. After taxes and all, just over $4500 Cdn. A fair bit of labour involved, dropping the subframe and fuel tank stuff with it.
  6. So, a tale of woe. A few weeks ago, my wife was driving the LGT and noticed the brake pedal was "soft". She continued toward home, and (thankfully) was going slowly and leaving room ahead. Brakes failed. Pedal went to the floor with minimal change in speed. She used the parking brake and the horn to cruise through a red light. Fortunately her quick thinking and action prevented anyone or anything getting injured. So, she got it to a parking lot and we then got it towed to the garage. Flatbed driver thought she was crazy since the brakes came back while he was maneuvering the car to get it on the truck. Drove it up the flatbed and when he tried to stop rolling back - it kept going! So, the rear brake line blew. Garage ran the VIN and the recall had been performed in 2016, before I owned it. So they replaced the brake line, the junction box, repaired a small section of the front brake line and put undercoat on the lines. While in there, they suggested changing the fuel tank as the seams were starting to separate. Already out to diagnose and change the lines, let's do it. Filler neck also had a crack - but somehow not leaking. Replaced that, and the pump and basket assembly also cracked. So a bunch done all at once. The new pump is not thrilling me - takes a good 1-2 seconds longer to fire than before. Guess that upgraded fuel pump will need to go in soon. My garage now has a policy to not install customer supplied parts due to bad experiences otherwise I would have had them do it while they had the basket out. As soon as the weather gets consistently warmer, first up will be getting the antenna harness in the hatch replaced and hopefully get my radio signals strong again. Gonna have to spend either a lot of time working on the car or money to get someone else to do it.

  9. There isn't much difference between the drl and low beam, the drl uses the low beam bulb and not the high beam like most sane manufacturers. I've noticed on mine, keeping the windshield clean (on the inside) makes a huge difference on how much light I can see. Clean the headlight assembly, inside of windshield and see if the perception changes. If not, upgrade the bulbs. I put in Osram bulbs and I have more light than a stock or stock replacement bulb.
  10. Huh, I just noticed that same thing on my dash.....I thought it might have been from when I cleaned the windshield last, but maybe not? It also appeared for me on a colder day, thought it might be some sort of frost.
  11. I had my flanges rust out in the same spot a year or two ago. I cut the flanges off and used some exhaust flex pipe to clamp it together. Held pretty well through the winter, though I did have to replace the flex pipe section before getting all the way to exhaust replacement.
  12. Not enough nickel in the stainless alloy. Of course, the heat will accelerate the corrosion, but without enough nickel the SS is mostly iron, which oxidizes easily. I have found most hardware store SS hardware doesn't hold up that well. Go to mcmaster-carr and get true SS hardware if you want it to last.
  13. I've got a loose parking brake handle in my 05 LGT. When I release it down, it will jiggle up and down and cause the light to come on on the dash. Is it a simple adjustment? Or is the cable needing an adjustment? It still works fine when engaged so I'm working on the assumption the cable is just stretched? TIA
  14. Heck, I notice a difference in brake feel depending on what shoes I'm wearing, so put in what you feel is necessary. I prefer a firm pedal feel. I should upgrade to the STi unit and put my GS brace on. Plenty of other actual "repair" type stuff needs to be done first.
  15. If something like that was available in Canada I wouldn't have bought my wrx in 2011.
