  1. Ihad a similar problem on chattery asphalt. I found I had left some small hardware and a socket in the pocket near the cowl/
  2. I am running a new turbo oil feed with 4 AN line from a sandwich plate adapter. I won't have the flow restriction that was in the banjo bolt. Is that going to be a problem? Bryan at the BNR website doesn't mention it in his Subaru turbo fix write up. What is the consensus ?
  3. I ordered a 6 AN cap, hope that fits. Couldn't find anything locally on Sunday. Thanks Max
  4. I ran a new oil feed to the turbo with a sandwich plate and filter. What should I do with the existing line? Should I cap it at the joint before the turbo? If so does anyone know what it is? Or should I chase it back to the block and plug it there? Thanks in advance, let me know what you think. Steve
  5. Check the intercooler to throttle body tube while you are in there. They eventually die.
  6. I know this is a little late, but what makes you think the engine is toast? Was it knocking before it died? Did it lock up?
  7. I had a left front that was loose as a goose, but just making a little noise. They can be tricky.
  8. Check the exhaust hangars too. get under the car, cold exhaust or thick gloves, and rattle the exhaust system around. Luckily it doesn't sound like drive train.
  9. As Max stated, I believe the band is a non sealed metal to metal interface. Suspect you have a failing turbo shaft seal. I would check the turbo shaft for radial play, and if any is detectable I would drive really nicely and make plans to rebuild or replace it. If you blow the turbo things get complicated. If no play, keep an eye on it until the leak is a problem. If you are running synthetic oil, you might change to a high mileage conventional oil and see if that helps. How many miles on it?
  10. Yep get coated rotor. Try RockAuto. I bought separates cheaper than a kit.
